Why do the two brothers run away?
The Diaz kids did nothing wrong, so why do they run away? Let's look at all points where harm might be done:

a) The bully
b) The policeman
c) Dad
d) The devastation of the neighbourhood

The bully wasn't hurt in the first place; it just looked like when the policeman spotted him.
I don't know what became of him after this outburst thing.

There has been no physical violence from the two brothers in regard to the policeman.

Dad's death could hardly be pinned on the boys, as he has a police bullet in his corpse.

No jury in the world would accept paranormal powers as the cause of this devastation. So, for any jury or judge, the devastation of the neighbourhood could only be caused by an explosion. But I haven't seen any explosives in the trailer and I doubt that any explosive item could be found in the house.

So, the boys have no reason to run away.

Or is foster care in the US so bad that they rather like to run away with nowhere to go?

I think they read the LiS2 steam forum, it's so darn toxic they ran.

Sean is held accountable for one thing and one thing only...the fight between him and Brett. Since you say Sean didn't do anything wrong, I'm assuming you forgot the part where Sean shoves him backwards resulting in him falling on a rock which most likely broke his spine (you can also hear a small snap as he lands on the rock).

The cop also drew his weapon and became very cautious because even though it was fake blood on Bretts shirt...the cop doesn't know that, he just got there. All he sees is a kid on the ground, panting, blood on his shirt, with two kids hovering over him.

Funny thing is the whole scene with Brett, cops and wreckage feels like an episode from Mr. Bean's sitcom where he tries to do something right but fails miserably, causing chaos and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around him in the process... and then awkwardly leaving the scene of a complete and utter disaster.

Why, you ask? Obviously, Dontnod did it for plot reasons.

Good points. It's a little bit sad that they didn't come up with something more reasonable. There's no way Sean can be hold responsible for the accident with the bully. Everything else was out of his hands.

As I always put it: A setup worthy of Final Destination - and probably the worst storytelling by Dontnod so far.

As already said, no court in the whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ world would put him on trial for his mystical "powers".

The situation was pretty bad, Sean panicked and thought the police would separate them, put him in jail and Daniel into foster care.

He only had seconds to make a decision there and i think the police would have held them accountable since they were the only suspects at the crime scene.

Running away from the crime scene made them the number one suspects. Probably on top of the most wanted list by now. Are they planning to live in the woods forever?

They are on a road trip to Mexico, remember? Probably to find support from relatives.
If you are in a state of shock you are not planning.
Maybe, later he will regret this decision, but flight is a natural reaction if you are in scary situation.
Hitchhiking or climbing on a freight train could be their first choice. That also would be good scenario for a cameo appearance of Max and/or Chloé, if there is one.

Many national forests on the way from Oregon to Mexico, they're good to go :). But yeah, they are probably not thinking straight right now. The little one just follows the lead, I guess.

Sheer Panic, we know they somehow end up in Beaver Creek so they would probably be on the run for a good 2-3 months - i hope they make it to arcadia bay to see a) a beautiful town with a lovely seacoast full of life or b) a destroyed ruined torn apart town with no signs of life anywhere.. apart from PriceField
