At the end when she blocks the door, first choose to threaten her, then another choice will come soon after, choose then to let Daniel get her out of the way.
I don't know if that's dependent on past choices.

I just told Daniel to get her out the way. He moved her and she survived.

It's probably dependent on whether or not you have either good Daniel or bad Daniel, and how much you've repressed his power.

Edit: As far as to Joey, I'm not sure, I had Sean escape by himself because I didn't want to implicate Joey. But that's probably purely dependent on Sean's personality state as well.

The decision making system is very complex and can change based on previous episodes.. depends on what type of daniel you have created along the way. Its much more complex than LiS 1 and the devs have done a really good job on that part.

It had the choice to either threaten her or ask Daniel to open the door, nothing else. So I did ask him, and both her and Nicholas survived. In my playthrough I needed not help them (she was not hurt and Nicholas regained consciousness), but I think it's possible that both die too. So I guess it's based on how you treated Daniel before that, e.g. taught him some decency and/or repressed his power.
