2. Episode 4
3. Episode 2 & 3
"Downgrade" is an understatement of how awful this season is. No matter how good episode 5 will or won’t be (hopes not high), it can't justify the bonkers bs of the previous episodes.
Episode 1 gets the highest ranking for presenting an ok, even somewhat interesting start to this story. It set a unique premise for this season and introduced new and interesting characters - which were promptly taken away shortly after. (Layla, Brody, Mushroom)
Episode 2 and 3 get one ranking because they are equally bad - for different reasons. The most important being illogical and unfitting character choices. (i.e. Sean agreeing to the Christmas market and Daniel doing the heist, even against Sean's wishes)
Episode 4 was by no means good, but at least the story moved forward towards the initial goal.
And we got some answers to a mystery (Karen). They weren't particularly satisfying, but at least it wasn't a pointless filler romance like in episode 3.
And there you have it.
Episode 3: In this episode we had a chance to see Sean interact with other people, not just Daniel. That alone puts it ahead of some of the others. Sean received more character development in this episode than in the previous two..also a plus. The ending, despite how you get to it, was more of a cliffhanger than we had up to that point.
Episode 4: I could easily rank this one first..it's kind of a tossup honestly. I also get the sense that I viewed this episode very differently than a lot of players. The "faith" alluded to in the title has, in my opinion, nothing to do with the church. It's Sean's faith in himself, his belief in the dream of Puerto Lobos. He's repeatedly beaten down, humiliated and challenged at every turn. You can almost see him questioning it when he sits down after Daniel performs his "miracle". He hangs his head in despondency and fatigue. Karen, and his image of her, is yet another challenge: can he set aside his anger over the past in order to achieve his goal? There are moments of respite: Joey and Anton and perhaps Finn (depending on choices and previous relationship). But the darkest moment is cleverly disguised: the dream sequence. In it, he's on a road trip with his Dad, Lyla and Daniel are together, having fun. Taken at face value, it's a nice memory, but to me it's a nightmare. The car is the key: it was part of the very last conversation he ever had with his dad. Everything in that dream is lost to him. He may never see Lyla again. He's lost Daniel. His father is dead. That dream is so pure, so innocent. And it's Sean's innocence that's been lost. Sean's journey through the desert is his dark night of the soul, a time when our beliefs, values and being are challenged and put to trial and test. I'm not sure if that was the intent of the devs or not, but they certainly seemed to have captured it.
Episode 1: This was notable mainly for the camping interlude down by the river. I enjoyed that part primarily because it felt very natural. They rang true as brothers at that point.
Episode 2: I liked the grandparents. The main issue I had was that I wanted more interaction with them. I wanted more time to explore the family dynamics, more backstory if you will. It just wasn't there. I rate this one last because I truly disliked that forced choice to go to the Christmas market. Say what you want about him, but one thing Sean is not, is stupid. It was totally out of character for him to agree to go there.
All of the others are pretty much terrible in every aspect, but if I have to choose...
Episode 1 - For the first 10 Minutes, everything else is ridiculous
Episode 2 - It is better than 4
Episode 4 - Pretty much the antithesis of the Life is Strange franchise.
2. Episode 3 love the characters and scenes
3. Episode 2 just moving from episode 1 to 3, boring
4. Episode 4 not much to say. 2/10, 2 for soundtracks and the beginning in the hospital
Episode 3 : best atmosphere, many different paths with several people involved
Episode 1: great setting and good hook, survival instinct kicks in. At least has the benefit to make you believe the money system is a thing
Episode 2 : super disappointing compared to Episode 1, baby-sitting simulator, illusion of choice not well handled but episode still pleasant in a way
Episode 4 : ... at least the graphics are good? Story way too predictable, feels stuck in a loop. Made me like Episode 2.
Episode 2 because Daniel is more dynamic in this episode. We also get to see the inpact of your choices in a big way
Episode 3, because of the number of endings and the relationships
Episode 4 , seemed to be the most static one so far , fewer choices, and more forced choices.
So yup, so far I have liked each episode less than the last . That said, I have enjoyed the journey overall.
I hope, episode 5 ends up being my number 1, and not my #5
Episode 1
Episode 2
Episode 4
I have ranked these Best to worst but that isn't to say that I don't like Episode 4 I actually really do like it and how it helped build trust with Daniel and Sean again but I just like it the least out of all 4 episodes currently available.
This is clearly the best one so far. Lots of character to talk and interact with.
Episode 2
Most of this is pretty boring, but the seccond half of its is decent.
Episode 1
Long walking simulator and there is only boring character you meet in it.
Episode 4
This is the worst so far, zero action and not much to do.
