so following your logic if someone has higher rank in pvp in dark souls that OBVIOUSLY means hes better than people with lower ranks and if he has max rank hes always mlg pro? cuz that what you said
since when having more/biger rank / score / level / points makes you better than others?

The more you play a game, the better you tend to become at that game.
In this game, you get points for playing online.
Therefore, someone who has more points, will tend to be better at the game than someone with fewer points.
You get beatpoints for playing in challenge or playlist mode.
If you reach a certain amount of beatpoints you unlock more tracks in playlist mode.
When you unlock all tracks you can basically use the beatpoints to show how much you played in online mode.
The amount of beatpoints you have does not say how good you are, just how long you've grinded the game.
For example I've seen a 100k player play worse than a 10k player.
