Demo Update: The Deep Stirs

Oct 2

The free Windows Demo has been updated. Existing Demo voyages and Captain's Logs are retained. Download or update it from the Demo store page.

Art and Animation

Defeat now plays a table sequence with a shaking room, toppled dice bag, spilled dice and a final attempt to shield yourself. A narrated prompt follows before the game-over choices.
Leaving the Night Market now leads into the next scene through the keeper's pipe smoke. Reduced Motion skips the animated transition.
The studio and game splash artwork fills the opening screen more consistently.

Balance

Fishbone Rosary (Common): Its 12-point bonus and +1 lasting growth for each owned die in the cast now activate with at least three odd effective faces. Every-face-odd casts still qualify, including one- and two-die casts.

Interface

The Sea Chart moves farther per mouse-wheel step, and its scrollbar is easier to grab. Scrolling does not select a destination.
The game-over menu states the loss plainly, and either exit choice fades into its destination.

Fixes

The studio-to-game flood no longer leaves a bright stray highlight after the flame goes out.

The new cinematic trailer is also available on the Full game's Coming Soon page. The Full game has not been released.

Demo Update: Clearer First Cast, Smoother Sea Chart

Oct 1

The free Steam Demo has been updated to 0.22.19-steam-demo.6. Existing Captain's Logs remain available.

Interface

The seer's first-cast instructions now stay in a compact panel above the dice tray, leaving the board visible.
On touchscreens, dragging from a Sea Chart destination scrolls the route. Tapping still selects that destination.
Reopening the Sea Chart on the same route is smoother, especially on larger screens.

Art and Animation

The Night Market keeper's loose garment strips move independently in the underwater current.
The Stolen Hour's clock hands now make mechanical contact during its guardian introduction.

Balance

Coral Crown (Common): At 20 or more Doubloons before an offering's first cast, it now pays 2 Doubloons on that cast instead of 3 on every cast. At 10-19 Doubloons, it pays 1 on the first cast. The Amplified version doubles that first-cast payment.
Little Anchor: Its offers now favor voyages where its Doubloon-spending ability has a practical use.

The separate Full game remains Coming Soon.

The Drowned Table

The Drowned Table Demo is out now on Steam

Sep 30

The Drowned Table Demo is live on Steam. After the wreck, you wake at a dice table while a storm works at the cabin window. The room has kept your seat. What you do with it is up to you.

Build a bag from over 60 Common dice, combine their powers with more than 20 Common Curios, and decide when another cast is worth the risk. The Sea Chart branches through eight depths of fights, encounters, markets, and guardians. A pencil-illustrated Journal follows each Captain's Log, and a Lexicon keeps the rules close at hand.

The demo is free, has no time limit, and lets you save your voyage. Demo and Full game progress are separate.

Play the free demo on Steam. The Full game is coming to Steam Early Access; wishlist The Drowned Table to follow its development.

We would love to hear where a rule was unclear, a combination felt weak, or the atmosphere stayed with you. Your feedback will help shape Early Access.
