It's not a useful feature. Someone who forgets to use their active items are better off recycling them and tokening passive items, because the frequency is so low that it's not as effective as other items in this style. Someone who knows about their active items are just going to be upset that they're passively on cooldown.
It's more micromanagement sure, but some people prefer that. Some people like hitting more buttons. Some people like keeping track of their cooldowns and managing them as another resource.
You changed a part of the game no one asked for, and very few seem to enjoy it. Hell, I used to actually right click slot some of these items on certain classes. But if this doesn't get fixed and I dunno, some months or so down the road that I decide to play this game again, I guess I'll just be another passive+buff item user and consider those active items as just credits.
Edit: Oh, and on another note. This feature actually actively screws with Assassin's Core: Professional. A mental "Just one headshot on this guy" turns into a flurry of projectiles that resets my stacks.
is also very annoying. It would be great if we could get this as an optional thing.
Essentially what im saying is I came for the tactical gameplay, but autocasting and other decisions being made just make this another rougelike in the ocean of them rather than a standout to me.
Some of the passives that do minor things like extra bullet chance, charged bullet, etc make sense, but its the ones that throw bombs around without care or anything that may self harm the user just need to be actives.
