Constant Crashing(usually on teleport to next level).
Hi. I experience craches each 10-25 mins of playing with no obvious trigger, sometimes in battle, sometimes on teleport to next mission(mostly that happens), sometimes while just walking around. It happened ~15 times in 3 days, so I'm clearly unable to finish the game.
Win 10, fullscreen, dynamic FPS, no anti-virus, english language, all other non-essential programs on my PC are turned off, PC is more than meets requirements in memory and graphics(also rarely I get crashes with simply OUT OF MEMORY message which is weird, PC memory is completely fine, so I don't even know what is happening and why).
I can't copy code error message for some reason(copy button does nothing) so I will type it in here.
This crash happened on teleport to next level after first boss.

FATAL ERROR in
action number 1
of Other Event: Room Start
for object obj_room_ctrl:

Memory allocation failed:Attempting to allocate 4325376 bytes
called from - gml_object_obj_room_ctrl_Other_4(line 494)

Please advice, I read the forum in search for this problem, but existing solutions don't help.
Any idea what I can do to fix this? I like the game and don't want to get a refund, but for me it's unplayable currently.

I have checked the code and in this case it is RAM memory that is not available.

Make sure you actually have 6gb RAM, check Mainboard drivers, run a memory check tool to see if it is corrupted or anything.
4gb should already be more than enough and given that you are the first to report this kind of problem we have to assume that it is something about your setup that is not working correctly.

Is maybe your harddrive full? Low ram? Low graphics memory?

This is really something related to your hardware / PC

Try start in admin mode also
Samar3n Feb 5, 2020 @ 10:58am
Harddrive is not full - system SSD has 40 Gb free and HDD with game has 520 Gb free. Ram is 6 Gb. Graphics memory is 3141Mb.

Well, I'm trying to understand what is the problem, but I doubt it's really with PC, since it's the only game that happens to(for example I never had same problems with Starcraft 2, Witcher 3, Stellaris etc they all consume memory heavily, but I never got any crashes like this and they are working just fine) and PC hardware is fairly new and the drivers for hardware are updated recently too.

Yeah, I start in admin mode everytime I launch the game from icon on desktop, seen no difference unfortunately.

Thanks for quick answer. What else do you think can be the problem?

Hm, I forwarded it to taro but we havent seen this with any other player so far
Can you play with your task manager open and see what happens?

Okay, I will do that and report any findings to you. Thanks again!
If you need any additional information - please ask away, I'm happy to provide all I can.

Tried to play with task manager and set lowest graphics possible in case it was productivity problem on my side. Game was going smooth for 20 mins and just crashed in combat(while I was reloading a weapon, only 2 enemies were on screen, not a boss level tho, there were no big explosions or anything that could have caused a crash and no screen glitches when game crashed, it just dropped me on desktop) with "Out of memory!" message.Task manager showed nothing important - I could see the game in Apps whole time, there was no problem and after crash it closed down by itself.

Try maybe roll back to a later or newer graphic driver, update windows, but if it were our end we would have a lot of people reporting this, Im not sure what to do

Try close background programs, maybe your 6GB run full

Tried it with your parameters, problem still exists, sorry. Maybe there is some kind of diagnostic program I can download and run on my computer to find out what exactly is missing for SYNTHETIK to work properly? I will continue to play and if problem will solve itself or I will find out how to fix it - I will write back with explanation. Thank you very much for help!

UPD: just now was the longest I ever played - 35 min, crashed on start of second boss right after teleport with "Out of memory!". Closed down literally all programs I could and game did run very smooth as always. I just don't get it...

First of all - thank you guys very much for quick help, I really appreciate it. I have done all that you suggested(checked and updated drivers, run extended memory check - no errors found) and a lot more other diagnostics and tweaks, but problem still exists. I believe I must add more RAM to PC, because actually I have only 3gb of free RAM while having 6gb, that must be it. I tried to free more RAM so I would have 4Gb to play, but crashed again and got this new message.

Win32 function failed: HRESULT: 0x887a0005

Call: GR_D3D Device->CreateTexture2D at line 710 in file /TexturesM.cpp
Device lost - reason: 0x887a0020

I will upgrade RAM and write back with new topic in case that won't help, but currently - you were exactly right and it's 100% my problem with memory, not with the code or anything. So I'm sorry I bothered you. Hey hey, people, you have created an awesome game!

UPD: ACTUALLY problem was in that I have Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, for some reason game uses first one with 3Gb, not the second one with 5Gb. I'm still unable to launch the game with second graphicscard. But it's my problem nevertheless.

This means that the engine looses contact with your GPU. We heard of cases before where instead of the dedicated the onboard GPU was used so definitely get rid of the slower one (disable in BIOS for example). It may be only that.

3GB RAM free is more than enough.

Let us know if you have figured it or need more support.

It works just fine now, thanks! I fixed it by using another videocard(I had 2 installed...). You can close the topic!
