Sniper's Striker drone is F**** anooying
Srsy it literally contradict the point of sniper. large group of enemies ? let me align my perfect headshot while the enemy still not alert of my presence. only to have the drone fire at the enemy for half of the hitpoint and now they all coming to you.

it now fires 1 second after being infight
maybe theres a bug but usually when someone is detecting you it enters combat
The shot does cause more reaction then of course making it look like that started combat

I can confirm that it does start combat. Had a full backstab shot ready to go, and then the drone goes and engages for no reason. I was not detected.

it still starts engagements. almost all my runs with sniper ends with the drone starting the engagements when I am not ready to engage.

Same, though I do have a theory that perhaps it's an enemy 'sees' you and then the drone instantly fires a shot making it seem like it is engaging but I can't be sure.
I can say however that either way it is frustrating to feel like my stealth and sneaking is being interfered with by what is an integral part of the kit I can't turn off.

Drones should only engage after you started shooting or taken damage.
Right now it's more of nuisanse rather than actual help, especially late game with moderate terror level him pulling enemies you tried not to aggro at the moment.

P.S realized that's a necro thread.

P.S.S drone starts to shoot before an enemy goes full alert( searching mode), meaning you could've avoided fight to sneak or line better shot.

Yeah that's how I feel as well, especially given that my playstyle often revolves around keeping enemies searching for me and sneaking around. Having the drone start a fight that I wasn't ready to engage is painful at times.
One thing that can help is keeping yourself snug up against a wall to block it's line of sight but that's a bandage fix.

Maybe it'd been better to give Snipers a Drone that occasionally "debuffs" targets without alerting them, or that maybe periodically 'casts' a stealth cloaking effect on the sniper player, something like that, that's specific to how players play that class type?

I like that, but I'd integrate the target painting concept into it so the drone marks/selects you a target and applies some sort of effect or debuff to it, then you get the reward for picking off the selected target.

Actually given they are all robots perhaps your drone marks the target by hacking the system and simultaneously places a bounty on it's head while applying a virus to it that debuffs it, thus explaining both the debuff and the reward for killing the target.

That's already the exact way bounty markers function. It's clearly not enough to carry the class on its own.

Sorry I was a bit unclear in my wording, what I mean is to replace the drone's ability to fire with a rebalanced version of the bounty marker to offset the loss in damage output, while simultaneously making the drone less of a liability due to it no longer engaging on targets I didn't want to drag into battle.
(Though I have not played the latest version yet and I am assuming the drone still functions as it did in Legion Rising.)

Maybe the drone should only shoot when you shoot
