So, say Robocop has his torso and his head still intact, along with the robotic arms/legs and robotic enhancements to his brain. I feel like a lost opportunity in the mostly forgettable Robocop 2 (director Irvin Kershner didn't bring his Empire Strikes Back magic touch to it) was a brief sequence between Robocop/Murphy and his heartbroken wiife. How much of your humanity do you retain in that situation? Are you more human or more robot?
In the case of Synthetik, it seemed like your brain is essentially popped into an Android body. Not any actual physical parts of your original human body (at least that's how I interpret it).
So to me that's not quite my definition of Cyborg, arguably. :)
As long as your brain still has organic parts left you would still be considered a cyborg.
When you ditch the last organic parts of your brain you ascend to become a fully artificial being, a human minded robot.
An android on the other hand is a robot designed to look humanoid from the beginning, but has no human mind, as it was never human to begin with.
That seems simpler than renaming all the items and effects to be more robot specific.
Cyborg means cybernetic organism - part man, part machine ( like a future Real Doll ). See Terminator 1 & Terminator 2 for more study.
We're all robots...
