what the hell keeps slowing me down in the final boss fight
Final boss feels lazy to me. It has only ever killed me because it slows down my movement tho I don't even know where it comes from, it seems to slow me down whenever I get shot. If your boss can't woop the player's ass without using movement negating mechanics and would be an easy as hell fight without them, then something is not right.

The Raptor Type E is my favorite boss in the game (unpopular opinion, I know) because the movement and positioning is actually important, and it feels incredibly rewarding. Raptor Type E is a challenging but fun fight that doesn't resort to irritating and cheap attacks. I have defeated the final boss several times before but that doesn't stop it from being a joykiller from time to time. It's pretty much impossible to avoid all of the projectiles in the final boss fight, and any slowdown in that fight can just end you in under a second.

On a somewhat related note, I recently had a run that was ended by a spiderbot that I was unable to dodge because I was stunned after fighting around 6 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gliders that were summoned after some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the back behind all of the meatshields miraculously heard gunfire of all things... in a game where gunfire occurs 99% of the time.

Without all epic pro gamers screeching as they stomp over to this thread and boast on about their hour count and how they are so much better at the game than I am because I don't like movement negation mechanics no matter how good I am at any game, and that they can't live in a world without "surprise controller disconnection mechanics" (just like how lootboxes are actually just surprise mechanics) and turning civilized discussions into unnecessary flamewars, can you tell me why you added a lot of stuns and other kinds of movement slowdown that are inflicted by enemies?

Is there also, by any chance, some super duper obvious ez pro trickshot non-rng dependent method to killing the final boss without taking any slowdown that I am apparently not aware of? I wouldn't be surprised at this point.

I think you only get slowed by it's fusion shots which you can either dash through or stand right in between them. It's similar to jet fight really, just switch sides, avoid fusions and you should be good.

If you don't like getting slowed down on recieving dmg - you can turn off "Flinch" difficulty modifier. All other stun and slow down mechanics become minor obstacle with enough practice. Best tactic to beat final boss (and raptor type E for that matter) is getting movement speed upgrades (or if you're lucky get Mael green artifact that makes you immune to all slow down effects and slow down from firing your weapon), besides, The last defender spawns slow down fields that can be sometimes unfair even. Then again, captain obviosity line: "weapon management and just fight management is important too"

you can disable flinch in the difficulty menu, all damage slows you down
