A faster paced sequel to Tracks of Triumph: Industrial Zone. More fun and engaging though essentially its the same game. The emphasis on finishing quickly and having enemies be more pro active in attacking you makes for a better all around twin stick shooter.

I'll give it a recommendation since it's nice to see the developer actually improve on his/her original effort.

2nd part of Tracks of Triumph on Steam. Here we have to fight the time, thats makes this part a little bit challenging, you have no time to wait for enemies, to much hit & run. A few levels are really challenging like 21 but never unfair/ unbalanced/ impossible. Its for indie gamers that dont expect to much. I give the game 64 % for casual gamers & 76 % for acheivement hunters (could have more "EASY" achievements, but i am happy it has achievements). Thx 4 reading.

It's actually a decent game, but is ruined by the camera. The camera purposefully hides the enemy from sight and allows them to shoot you before you can get an accurate shot in. However, after learning how the system works, can be beaten in 1-2 hours for semi easy 100% achievement status. If the Cheevos weren't there, it would never be worth playing.

Imagine playing Bullet Hell games with limited ammo, sometimes insanely fast enemies and a FREAKING timer for you to clear ALL enemies without Radar indication where remaining enemies are! I thought Track of Truimph titles show some promises. But Summertime will give you suckertime. Avoid this until the hit-&-run DEVs bother to read our comments for improvements and update this one. AVOID! You've been warned...

You will only want to buy it if you just want like 370 achievements in like 5-10 minutes or if the game is on sale or you got a large discount coupon for it. If not, don't get it. Why? Read the long version below.

A sequel to the original ToT game where it sets you in an industrial zone, this one is more of a summer theme so expect beaches and lots of umbrellas and lounges everywhere. Again, like the first game, it's basically a shooter but this time with a few changes.

They added a time limit for every stage so you can no longer hide and take potshots. To me, I feel this move gave the game an artificial difficulty considering how easy it is for you to die in the game. Despite being a tank, you still die rather easily. Some enemy fire (those from the Missile turret/tank) slows you down and getting hit by those while in the middle of an intense fight basically means you're gonna restart the level. Some enemy fire sets your tank on fire and you take damage over time; something which still doesn't make sense from the first game and they brought it over. Okay.

Now with the time limit, you can't hide and plan your shots strategically. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do. Constantly move around and dodge enemy fire while trying to shoot back? Possibly, but the controls are a little odd sometimes and the tank just doesn't move like how you want it to. Not to mention the collision for the assets in the game is a little off too. For example, only the middle portion of a car blocks enemy fire but the front and rear hood does not. And the trees. Why is my tank always stuck between them? I can get in but I can't get out? Just why.

And possibly the worst of all, there isn't any minimap or enemy indicator arrows to tell you where the enemies are. They're always scattered across the level in the most odd places (like between trees or in between narrow alleys of buildings) and you have to manually find them. It was kind of annoying in the first game, but now with the time limit imposed in the second game, it's doubly annoying to have the time run out and I lose the level all because I couldn't fire one enemy that's hidden in some obscure location of the map. Most of the time, it's some spikey thing stuck between some buildings and you can't see it because of how small that thing is and how big the obstacles are.

And the camera view. It's still broken from the first game. It doesn't follow your tank. Your tank is always off-center, especially when you venture off to the edges of the map. Most of the time, you can't see a huge part of the map and you keep getting shot at because you can't see where the enemies are at. If there's some button that lets you pan your camera back to the middle and I don't know about it, that's because there isn't a proper tutorial to teach you how to play the game. Brilliant. And in the first game, at least when you killed everything, there is a "Level Completed" message. This version removed it. When you killed everything, the game just freezes a bit and poof, you're at the next level. Really.

Some levels are downright ridiculous. You spawn in the middle of a bunch of enemies who start spraying bullets at you from all directions. Last I checked, this game was a casual shooter, not a bullet-hell. So just why? It would be fine if it's just simple bullets, at not bullets that will slow your tank down or burn your tank from full health to zero. Then. some levels has this big missile launcher system that fires like a barrage of missiles at you for quite a long amount of time. You better dodge that cos' getting hit by one of that is basically a restart since it slows your tank and you're going to eat every single missile that comes afterwards. Dodging it on its own would be easy, but then remember you got the blasted time limit so you can't spend too much time dodging. You will also be facing other enemies who also will be firing at you. And every time that enemy fires, my FPS and framerate drops a ton till my tank slows to a crawl. Have fun dodging then. Very casual indeed.

And the achievements. I guess the developer hopped on the achievement spamming bandwagon and included tons of ridiculous achievements for the sake of increasing sales. I vaguely remember these spam not being here before when I got the game from a bundle. It was just the level progression ones. Now you get an achievement for killing an enemy. So kill like 369 enemies and get 369 achievements. Well, at least they kept the progression ones. That's good.

Disclaimer: I have only played through the first 6 or 7 levels of this game

There are times when I wish that Steam had a "Mixed" option for uploading reviews. This is one of those times. Tracks of Triumph: Summertime is a twin stick shooter/bullet hell game where you play as a tank and have to kill everything else before time runs out. The controls are fluid, and the weapons are satisfying to use. It's nice to see some variety in the enemies depending on their function, and it allows you to plan out strategies for each one. The game's music is nice, and its art style is visually appealing.

However, this game also has some pitfalls. Overall, the game feels... unfinished, and it could use some polishing here and there. The view is zoomed out too far compared to the level size, but even that wouldn't help much considering the fact that enemies seem to shoot from offscreen (I have yet to confirm this). The level design is slightly repetitive, and it doesn't have much to do with summertime. It would also be nice for enemies to have a soft shooting sound. Nothing too loud is required, of course, just something to provide a bit more of a cue when enemies fire.

tl;dr:
Overall, the game is pretty decent and is a good time killer, but it could definitely use some improvements here and there.

Good game, Fast and fun.
The difficulty explodes from the lvl 14. This makes the game really frustrating.
However, it is a good experience.
