Nah it's just bad, drop the missions down to the lowest difficulty anyways since you don't get any rewards.

ah yep no worries, roger that. the controls on m/k aren't the greatest for the knight too haha. thanks for the reply!

It's a cool idea, but I agree the execution isn't great. Also, for an ARPG, progress (exp, gear, currency) is everything - and you don't get any of that on the knight/shadowsword levels.

yep seems like a missed opportunity unfortunatley.

These missions really should be skipable, especially for seasons. No tie in to character development, just a waste of time. They were cool the first time playing through the campaign but they would have been just as nice as cut-scenes.

As far as I know you get a fixed amout of XP, and not even XP for every enemy you kill in the mission. So it's even of no use clearing the map.

There is a golden rule:
Play every single campaign mission on the lowest difficulty level possible.

Why?
- Doesn't matter what difficulty you pick, XP reward is always the same
- There are missions like the Imperial Knight piloting missions (yeah there are more of them) , the tank mission and some missions where you either have to protect someone or speedrun the level within a time, which are simply not ballanced or made for higher difficulty levels since doesn't matter how powerfull you are, either your time will run out or your protected target will die from OP enemies anyway.

This right here. I speed run all the story on story mode just to get to end game.

Yeah i wish there would be some sort of option to totally skip the story missions .

If you are a seasoned player who has done sseveral characters, many story mission are just a chore to get through them. Sadly they are the ones which get you to around lvl60 without a painfull grind. So it is a must to do them. But still something should be done.

Either introduce a Diablo 3 like adventure mode so you don't have to play the campaign again, and/or make all other missions reward you with similar amount of XP. Not just a few mission types.

This is not entirely true. You also get xp for kills and that goes up with increased difficulty. I did the campaign @ +5 this time and finished it a couple of levels higher than last season. It was not any harder with the build I am using.

On topic tho we really need a way to skip the big mech missions. They suck eggs big time

My guess: They had to make these missions as promo material for Games Workshop to get the 40K license.
Showcase miniatures/models and shoehorn them into the actual game.

I run them at my level, because of the various heroic deeds that involve killing enemies at my level or higher. Still easy enough.

Except for the Imperial Knight missions. They annoy me and I want them over quick, so I knock them down to the lowest difficulty.

Though they are good for progressing the heroic deeds that require you to deal heat or physical damage if you don't get them from your build.

What impresses me is, from what you described, it sounds like you're still doing the main Martyr storyline where you 1st have to do the Knight mission, and you're already on Eye of Terror (+10) Difficulty.

I thought I was doing really well with my Crusader/Heavy Bolter/Turret build on Impossible (+5) Difficulty, and struggled mainly with the Great Unclean One, but now I realise I was playing on Noob Mode. I hadn't bought the Prophecy DLC yet, is the Tech Adept that good?

(Might have to buy it while the Steam Summer Sale is on.)

Disclaimer, I haven't played the tech adept much since they overhauled it with tech shards for the weapon upgrades for constructs, but it used to be one of my favorite classes. If you like summoner/necromancer style play it's definitely worth it.
Athos42 Jul 6, 2022 @ 1:04pm
The only thing you have to make absolutely sure before starting a Tech Adept is: choose which constructs you want to play with in advance. Because someone in Development thought it would be a good idea to introduce Tech Fragments as currency to level the construct weapons, but without possibility to respecc those to try out a new weapon. Without leveling a weapon, it becomes too weak quickly. What does that do in practise? My Adept is Level 97 now. I have one Construct weapon at 96 and one at 95. So I can't even keep two on my level, it becomes so insanely expensive from a certain level on (I'm at 88000 Fragments per level and weapon now).
