What's your favourite weapon and why?
Mine is lasgun as it can hit offscreen, great clear for columns of swarmers and decent single-target burst.

Shotgun - fun to use. Some Assassin's swords and rods - cool movesets.

But these are far from the strongest. Best weapons are usually pretty boring with one spammable most powerful attack.

The sounddesign in the game is fantastic, but..

The Heavy bolter scratches an itch.

Multimelta
It has a pinpoint base shot.
It has an area-of-effect secondary shot for clearing swarms.
It has a charged line shot for clearing corridors and bosses.
It has a final shot with massive instant damage and a devastating burn effect.

I still have to try out the other classes as I've only dabbled with the Sororitas so far but I spent most of the game playing with the Flamer / Rod combo. Not as endgame powerful as the Brazier variant for raw damage but the huge aoe / knockback effect alongside the burn damage made it a breeze and joy. Still use it from time to time. :>

> Power halberd
Elegant and very powerful weapon with all 4 ability are useful especially 3hit jab

> Handfammer + rod
Combination of fast attack rating, heat damage, nice aoe and low heat generation make extremely deadly weapon, it's so outperformed all other types of flammers in game that all others (except melta and multimelta for anti armor purpose) could be immediately delete from game and nobody will sorrow for that

Also, burning alive heretic screams is best prayers for Emperor

> Power blade + rod
Sometimes simplify is a best thing, power weapon type with base attack that applies bleed, and dash ability, with very long range and very low cd - and honestly what else go you need? Two empty slot for act of faith with your choice helps flexibility fine tuned your build

> Needle sniper rifle
Not by effectiveness, effectiveness of this are near to ground, but only for style, when you press "needle burst" special attack and full screen are blown up with green - this looks fantastic
After that you switch to normal weapon and kills who survived

Shotgun for the trash, heavy bolter for bosses. Very satisfying.
melta Feb 18 @ 6:14pm
multi-melta
I've never read a weapon's abilities described as turning the target into radioactive, flammable, slag. Rad right? Make it double rad now. Plus dark shades are a requirement for it's use. :sunglassesDoge:
grav guns all day
Multi Melta, less so single one. Efficient and simple to build your character around it, sounds awesome, just the very fact that it's essentially a freaking flamethrower marksman rifle. Might not be lore accurate, but i don't care, best incarnation of the weapon in all 40k media for me.

Actually, Inquisitor is the only game that does the melta weapons lore accurate.
It is supposed to be a short range highly focused energy beam.

I liked the grenade launcher for the mine placement but recently swapped it for a flamethrower. It's just great to set everything on fire with the two cooldown abilities and then switch to melee instantly without having to reload, it just cools down while you are swinging.
For melee I always come back to the power axe/suppression shield combo.

I was looking at the meltas in Space Marine 2 and a little confused, but still rolling because the build was imba for me in the first launch month, their melta was like a short range, extremely intense, burst flamethrower. Again, very powerful in the game at the time, but it wasn't really a melta.

Right. I meant it's AoE and DoT attacks, iirc it was never described as being capable of setting fire to an area and irradiating things without instantly vaporising them.
