Harbinger Prioritized Eliminate a Harbinger of Escalation without killing the minions first ?

Hi, I have problems with this task. First I thought - ok, don't kill ALL minions before the Harbinger - No, doesn't work.

Then I tried to kill the Harbinger before killing a single minion. Normally I use Grav-Guns - doesn't work - it kills lot's of minions "by accident". Same for multimelter.

Last try: Boltergun and of course no extras like Thunderbolt of Authority etc. and hunting for Black-Legion Harbinger (jumps to you and stands nearer than minions) or Rebel Harbinger (stands still while the minions follow you).

I didn't get it. Oh, there are Harbingers without minions - doesn't work.

How did you get it?

I did it on Valorous Heart (by accident). I had "every 10th enemy explodes on kill" on my weapon. During the mission two Harbingers were next to eah other, than a big explosian and the task was comlete. In my case, the exploding took out the Harbinger. But as i said it was by accident.

I have no idea how I got it.

Trying to kill them with a single target weapon didn't award it. A minion kept jumping in the way. The plan was that I'd just give up and ask for help when I'm close to completing that tier of tasks.

Then the notification just popped up for me while I was killing a harbinger and their minions with an AOE weapon. I'm not going to argue with that.

You're lucky. When I get this Tier 3 and Tier 4 are done.

I did it on controller by switching to a Greatsword, making sure to target-lock the Harbinger before attacking (so he's highlighted blue-white), and then just battering him down. I'd suggest loading your innoculator up with damage-boosters and doing the lowest-level mission you can get away with to make it less likely something will go wrong. You do also have to watch out for 'helpful' temp enchants that might ruin it.

I did that on my very first mission, at level 1, with a chain sword.
walked up to the harbinger and held left-click.

I got it now - but I am convinced it was on a situation where it should not be fullfilled. Before I had some where it should have worked.

I thought the 50k Shards of Grace last season were obnoxious.
Boy was I wrong.
Killing all 10 bosses this season was so much worse.

But you were incredible fast. I am at 47h playtime and am level 92 and 5/10 bosses. Ok, I have only 2 void crusades left, the hardcore + mastering is done. Last season I needed 68h. We will see...

Oh, it weren't 68h - it were 58h.

It took me 58 hours to completion this season.
That is 17 more than last season.
I hit 100 about 35 hours in with everything done except the boss tasks.
I did run all seasonal missions that came up by that time but was still at 0/10.
The rest was just monotonously grinding Valorous Heart for seasonal missions.
