Good Melee Crusader Build?
Hey all, I'm currently a ranged Crusader using a relic Multi-Melta and I was thinking of switching to melee because all I got left for this event are yellow missions and I'm strugglebussing hard trying to get through them and so I thought I'd switch to melee, so I was curious what are some good melee crusader builds?

What kind of stuff do I want to dump my skillpoints into? What are the good perks? What weapons should I keep an eye out for, stuff like that.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Is trading a thing? I have a relic Greataxe I'd totally swap for your relic Multi Melta as I don't use melee

depends
shield or 2 hand
what level?
Level 41 two-handed.

There isn't any official trading. The best there is right now is you mail an item to someone and hope they don't just take it without sending anything back.

As much as I despise you, I'll be the bigger man and help you out.

You're lucky in that you're level 41 as it unlocks a very cruical Perk for the Crusader:

Augmented Body II.

Which gives you permanent green Suppression (i.e total CC immunity). However, it also cuts out any health regen you have so you must find a way to heal more. Thankfully there is a solution to this:

Getting 15 points in Virtue gives you "Heal 0.5% of total Health per Focus spent" which can be combined with the three skills in the lower right of the Support-tree which gives you the same - resulting in 1% per 1 Focus spent. Given that an Assault Leap costs 20, that's 20% of your Health per leap.

Then the rather annoying part is getting the Focus to fuel all this jetpacking around. There's no easy way around it, you need the Perk "Self-Flagellation" which turns your Health per second into Focus per second. Since Augmented Body II disallows you to regen health anyway, this isn't much of a loss. This Perk is locked behind an annoying Fate grind, however...

As for other skill points, you can pretty much invest them anywhere you like to suit your weapon of choice. Critical hits etc is of course the go-to melee build atm.

Start with the crit tree. Sprinkle in the physical tree (not the side-grades though) and movement tree. Pepper with some AOE tree (it hs some good ones but they are not that mandatory, if unsure Optimal dispersion always work well) and then finish it up with Puritan and defense skills (get Defensive stance!)

For perks you MUST have augmented body 2. Rest can be mixed and matched though some are better than others, but that comes down to taste and what you need to boost because the gear is not perfect yet.

skills:

crit: revenge, berseker blood, coldblood
phys: complete (no side capstones) until trauma
close combat: unlock overwhelm get the speed buff and the crit for combo skills
singel dps: euphoric glands
defense: runic wards defensive stance

all the rest of the points to your leisure (demoralize is something for example)

perks: crisis managment and augmented body, 3rd to your leisure

relic greatsword with the armor-pen-skill
relic greataxe with the heal on kill skill (doesn't work currently)

assault armor with shield-chance

crit everywhere, also on added relic rolls
get rid of all lifereg, only use life on hit and life on kill

bäm immortal, godlike crusader.
Unlock the Area effect tree, put 4 points into optimal disperse. Do insane damage with AOE effect attacks. Put some points into Hitpoint tree, defense tree, physical damage, puritan tree, take the perks crisis management, unfettered manovering and fencer and become immortal in melee combat.

Have fun.
What kind of stats am I looking for on my weapons/gear? Just about every piece of my equipment is a relic item, and I have a relic greatsword and relic greataxe for my weapons.

Works fine untill you swap weapon sets. If You have this axe on lot 1 and use it it works. If you swap to it because it's on slot 2 it stops working. If you swap from your slot 1 weapon with the trait on your slot two and back it will not work either.
