what to do with the loot?
I used to sell all "black" stuff. Then I've started selling blue as well. Now I'm filled with purple and green... and wondering whether I should start selling green as well? I remotely remember that some things can be dismantled and materials can be used to produce something else. Honestly, I don't know how to do this ;-P. Im on level 24 or something so... I don't know: am I missing something, or some options will come in future? Just don;t know if sell all this scrap or keep storing ;-P

Early on blues and purples are still good since the higher tier loot is not dropping as much yet. So, as for selling/dismantling, I sell common, green, blue while you can dismantle purple and higher. To dismantle/craft anything you need to unlock the tech priest in your ship (Omicron Arkh).

Usually once you get use to the gear your build needs it will be easy to sort through the items you don't want.

Once I found the auto pick up loot button. (and pick up everything) I sell greens and break down blue and purples.

First of all, rarity in this game goes white > blue > green > purple > orange (relic) > red > gold (ancient) > teal
In the endgame you sell everything except orange, which is getting dismantled for machine god sparks, of which you will need so many.

I think I have one gold item, my character uses mostly purple with some orange. In some cases I use "lower quality" item even if I have better one, because this one suits me better.

You mean you sell blues and break down greens and purples?

Okay, so I need to get to Omicron first. Shouldn't be far away from my current position.

By the way: game actually throws really a lot of items, but in the same time I think that most of them are not usefull. I very rarely change my weapons - I use shotgun for second tab and machinegun for first one. This, combined with missiles from my suit and frag granades is more than enough for pretty much everything I encounter. I haven't even tested most of the weapons, like melta or things like this - I just don't see a reason. But, in the same time, you know... it is hard to get rid of something that may come handy in future ;-P

After completing my first run I will understand more. So far at least I know that greens are okay to sell as well, unless I have option to break them.

By the way: some items (orange mostly) in description have something like "goals" - for example: kill 5 elite commanders or something like this. What does it mean? The item starts working after I fulfill this goal or is it something different?

You'll easily get to a point where your crafting materials sail through the five figures range and you'll have little use for dismantling more items. You burn through way more credits modifying less than perfect items than you do crafting materials, so you'll want as much cash on hand as possible.

I burned through 30 million in a single session trying to get all my perks meshing just right, whereas I still have at least 50k of all but the rarest two ingredients. At this point I sell anything that isn't rare, archeotech or a morality relic just to keep my cash supply from dwindling out too fast.

It's Sparks of Glory and the orange ones (name escapes me right now) that you'll probably struggle to maintain a supply of, so make sure you don't sell the limited sources of those available.

By the time you're level 50 you won't have much use for anything that isn't relic quality or higher, the other classes of loot are so absurdly abundant they're just filler to force you to dump inventory after every mission.

Okay, sounds interesting ;-P. I have only around 500k of cash being at 25th level... and so far I haven't seen much use for money as well. Though I've expected that at some point game will be more steep.
Personally I would say you to save a copy of each item, then sell everything that is not purple (or better).. once you are 45+ start selling purple aswell.

Credits are easy to get dont get too mad, if you dont invest on change the skin of the things for the tier 3 (100k each paintwork) you shoulnt be having much trouble about it

Eventually you will be selling as much as you can and praying for more intel to sell just to feed your gear level ups or rerolls for better stats. They are not joking, Millions of Credits vanish.

Oh, by the way, I got something what is called intel... totally don't know what to do with this ;-P. I sell it or use it?

Early on I sell them (200k per piece)
Once I am able to use them (right-click in inventory creates a mission) I keep one stack around.

These missions are level-related - I mean scaled dynamically or rather on predetermined high level? Sorry that I'm asking that much, but this game has plenty of small things inside...
Schalimah Jun 10, 2022 @ 5:59am
The level is set upon use and will be +0 - +3 of your current level.
They will not increase as you level up.
failsafe Jun 10, 2022 @ 7:27am
Okay, thanks. So instead of selling it seems better to use them. Non campaign missions are too easy and little boring. I'm trying to do all secondary mission on the planet where I have main missions... but it really hurts my mind ;-P. I'm also looking forward to voigt campaigns... whatever it is...

By the way: game allows to increase difficulty on main campaign mission (I typically do them +1, but going to progress this soon) while secondary missions are set on particular level of difficulty. As a result while on 25th level I encounter missions on 5-7-10 level... I wish I could modify level of difficulty for those as well. Maybe I wouldn't choose +1 or +2, since there are many missions like these and it would be little loss of time to play them in very cautious way, but even -1 or 0 level could be nice.

Don't do randomly generated missins on the star map.
Instead go via the mission deployment menu (menu bar at the bottom while on the bridge).
If the mission is at least on your level you can increase levels by applying tarot cards.
failsafe Jun 11, 2022 @ 2:22am
Okay, sounds good. But is there any reason not to do random missions - other than the boring level?
