Poor Little Imperial Guard Followers
These could be a lot of fun if tweaked a little bit.

1. They need more health.

I have seen this mentioned by devs, stating that eventually they will get this which is great. I would suggest 50% or more so they can live through single strike aoe attacks like grenades or Orbital strike attacks. There are a lot of missions where the second I get close enough to them that they join me, one of those 2 attacks instantly obliterates every one of them.

2. Out of Combat healing.

Give us a way to heal them instead of rushing them to their deaths when they live through a fight. How cool would it be if out of combat you made animations for them where (as they were healing) you could see them bandaging each other, or injecting stimulants. They should take 2x as long to start healing out of combat, but heal 2x as fast as a player and it would work out well. That way ooc healing is less abuseable and you arent waiting for them to heal forever.

3. Consider adding innoculator effects to them so you could heal them during combat.

Once I have picked some of these guys up, its a real chore trying to keep them alive. I often need to charge into battle and use myself as a meatshield, (even running to take a grenade in the face) to keep it from hitting them instead, and keep them alive.

Letting me fight intelligently, and still have options to keep them alive would be preferable to using my face to absorb bullets and grenades in an attempt to do so.

If you guys have any suggestions i missed, please list them.

Yeah, I know Imperial Guards in regular 40K are really just there to give a sense of power to the Space Marines, but spending a couple of thousand credits to have them die in the first 4 seconds of a run is a bit dumb

The problem is...why are we landing with mere Imperial Guardsmen in the first place?

Where are our Inquisitorial Stormtroops/Kasrkins??????

They are imperial guards ...they are supposed to die, aren't they? I know that and I know nothing about W40k. :-D

Aint that the truth.
Ordo Tempestus Stormtroopers can hold their own and are equipped beyond paper armor and a laser pointer.

Grey Knights? Deathwatch? Sisters of Battle? Scions? These are the military forces Inquisitors use, not regular Imperial Guard. Unless thats all they got, in which case there is an Exterminatus quickly coming.

Seriously the sheer amount times they assist me in missions whilst screaming such Heretical lines as "Die Inquisitor" or "thrice curse you Inquisitor"this just begs me to stop the purge and allow them to advance to the death they so truely deserve for such outspoken dissent.

i would like to see a scaleable system, maybe like IG 1k credts > elite IG 2k credits> Sisters 3k credits> SM recon 4k > SM 5k. or something liek that. that would be cool. along with what the OP said ofc.

Inquisition don't command Space Marines nor Sisters of Battle. Albeit the Sisters of Battle are under the Ecclesiarchy so it won't be that fetched.

There are guard units who can fight as more than cannon fodder and that should be the upgrade tier imo. Inquisitorial stormtroopers.

They don't command Space Marines they work with Gey Knight, who are the Chamber Militant for the Ordo Malleus. Basiclly the Inquisitor finds a deamon and kills it, or calls in the Grey Knights to do it. They work more in Parrallel more than commanding.

But Inquisitors can take control and or Command of any Imperial force he wants to include Astartes, to refuse an Inquisitor would be a bad thing to do. There are cases where entire Imperial Guard regiments have been labled Heretic by a pissed off Inquisitor, for right or wrong the Inquisitor makes the rules.

Those would seem to be the sort of things one would find in a Retinue, rather than as "allies who are handy for a trivial expenditure of influence"

Unless you miss quoted the above, @jeoc42

In most cases wouldn't find Grey Knights, Deathwatch, or Sisters of Battle in an Inquisitors Retinue. Albeit Jaq Draco did have Lexandro D'Arquebus of the Imperial Fist for a short time, but retinues consisted mainly of Pilots, Navigators, Bodyguards, Interrorgators, Bounty Hunters, Daemonhosts, Assassins, other jounior Inquisitors. People who could assist in covert missions. A Space Marine or a Sister of Battle could hardly be considered covert.

As for the trivial expenditure of influence, The 3 major Ordos of the Inquisition Ordo Malleus, Xenos, and Hereticus; "Each of the three Ordos has an "Order Militant", a fighting force trained to fighting the chosen enemy of their Order" Grey Knights for the Ordo Malleus, Deathwatch for the Ordo Xenos, and Adepta Sororitas for Ordo Hereticus.

Tisk.

Unless the lore has changed, Inquisitors can requisition whoever they deem necessary for their tasks.
