God awful voice acting...

This game is decent but jesus christ is the voice acting bad, were these voice actors not given direction? Life and death situations with Chaos and your character is speaking like hes in a 4pm meeting with corporate.

First meeting with Chaos and the Psyker speaks like hes whispering gossip at a watercooler.

Normally I don't moan about stuff like this but damn it really brings you out of the action.

[Edit] The Psyker's voice actors mic keeps peaking when he speaks louder...

I guess I hadn't really noticed. most of it just sounds like typical space marine vox to me. then again I guess I've never really noticed the voices during combat either bc there's about 5million things going on the screen and too many other noises that drown it out. I'm also not playing the psyker though, I'm running a Tech-Adept, so far everything with it seems pretty normal wh 40k stuff.

I'm really enjoying it. Last time I played was a couple weeks before the 2.0 release and the prophecy release. Before that I had played a psyker up to about lvl 25 before I started to lose interest but that was mainly bc the game wasn't all that great then and I'm just really ADD. I was finding that it couldn't replace my main Arpg GrimDawn. While I think there could be some qol on how the itemization is with the constructs [pets/summons] of the Tech-Adept it's been a lot of fun. I like that you can do all kinds of stuff with your constructs. It feels like you're leveling not just your character but you're also customizing how your constructs work. Plus the voice acting for him is a perfect ton, I don't think I've heard him speak during combat lol but I'll keep my ear open.

It's definitely not the best voice acting in the industry, but it's far from the worst.

P.S. The Guardsmen are actually pretty great, too.

Yeah, overall the voice acting is pretty sub-par for 40k games. The dialogue is the cause for this, I reckon. The dialogue is the only thing I dislike about this game - it's just so cheesy, and some of the colloquialisms are really out of character for the setting too.

Yeah, the VA is kinda cringe to me, as is the quality of the writing. I just try to block it out haha

Seems to be very subjective topic. I like the voice acting, especially the assassin has a very fitting voice. I also like Ragna, Thelema and Omicron (Sister is weak though). As a big WH40K fan i also don't think the writing is cheesy, i found it very fitting most of the time. Honestly i really enjoyed the main storyline and that of prophecy and would be glad if they continued it. For an ARPG it has one of the most interesting story arcs in my opinion.

But here we see how different the preferences of different people are^^

They need more voice actors. They have 3 or 4 who do everything i think. During a Sister of Battle play-through you sometimes have conversations with the same voice actor doing the same voice. Poor planning tbh

The voice acting is amazing imo, maybe you just are not listening to it.
