It is an additional layer of damage multiplyer.
(Just open your character page and hoover your mouse above "Critical hit Strenght"
So simplified:
IF you score a critical hit and let us pretend you have 10% Critical Hit damage:
You will deal +10% damage to the enemy in the worst case scenario/or at the minimum
As the tooltip says,
- if your Crit Strenght is between 0 and 45%, you will deal at least 150% damage. Adding on top if it the 10% Crit DMG = 160% bonus DMG.
- If your Crit Strentht is between 46%- 85%: you will deal 200% bonus DMG + 10% Crit Damage = 210% Bonus DMG
- If your Crit Strenght is 86%-115%, you will deal 250% bonus DMG, and get buff to your DMG over time +10% Crit DMG = 260% Bonus DMG.
- And so on.
So basically you should go for Crit Strenght first, and than Crit Damage, since you can get much higher bonus DMG values out from the Crit STR. :)
