PLEASE HELP: STUCK on "Madness Incarnate"
PLEASE HELP: I cannot, to save my life, clear "Madness Incarnate." I'd been sailing along, half laughing at how easy the game was so far for a heavy Crusader on the default difficulty...

And then I met Cais Thorn, suicidal idiot. I'm staying as close as I know how, trying to take out anybody that can do serious damage to him before they get close... But he ALWAYS Forrest-Gump-s out during the 3rd wave.

Is he one of those old people that can't stay warm anymore? Is that why he loves to stand idly in flames while his HP evaporates?! The game leaps from easy to sadistically near-impossible because of him. 🙄

Also, do those minefields and turrets make any (real) difference? Is it worth sparing the time to mess with them?

It feels like I blew $50 on a bad joke (ha ha, GW--very funny). Any constructive advice/tips would be appreciated.

Im my experience the minefields and especally turrets do make a difference. So if you havent been using then that could be the key.
I am however stuck on a similar mission where you have to protect Flavius Draken from waves of enemies and cant seem to find a way past it.

Thanks Clawhammer--that's more info than I started with. 👍🏻

And I felt bad failing a couple of times, playing these missions on challenge mode + hard.

Here's a tip: Try changing armour to Assault Armour.

The jumpjets give you extra mobility which you can use to close the distance to your target rather fast while dealing AoE dmg on arrival at desired destination.

Also, positioning is crucial when playing crusader.

YAAAASSSS!

THANK YOU to everyone who responded: I am finally past it! 😂

I love my family dearly, but I waited until I had the place to myself, got the pets (temporarily) out of the way, studied, experimented, and went for it.

With the right gear tweaks and UI settings, it was surprisingly easy--but it wouldn't have happened without you. Much obliged, friends! 👋🏻

Well, John, I'm stuck on the same mission; please tell how you solved it.

If anyone needs a hand, feel free to ask. I'm on a fair bit.

GA01, The short answer is that I decreased the difficulty (temporarily).

Once I had played enough to beat it in hard mode, I did, but in order to proceed initially, I bunny-slope-ed it.

I'm already on the easy level; I'm not very good but I enjoy the hell out of the game. I figure the best way is to experiment with the different armor types to get different special abilities.

My last playthrough was so irritating because I just shadowed the commander to keep him alive and on the last wave he just walks into an exploding and on fire barricade; of course, he died.
