Chaos Knight Boss; What am I doing wrong?!
Just went thru my first void crusade, not bad at all, pretty fun. Got challenging after a half dozen missions so I went to the last one, luckily I had unlocked it at just a lvl above mine. However, it seems that I can't even scratch the chaos knight walker! It heals faster then I can do damage no matter what I seem to do. I'm playing assassin sniper, tried all the sniper rifles I could tho I usually play dual longlas, nothing! I mean, 80K in health of various kinds and regens that dam quick?

Ok, whats the trick?

was there a regen tower near it that you didn't kill

The above comment is very important. In addition, when I have undertaken that last fight there is also a minefield and tarantula turret that can be deployed; when deployed that turret will draw the chaos knight's attention, which may also help.

Is there any way to tell if this boss will be present? I think this is just garbage. You do all those missions then you get this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the end so no reward. Personally if I see this much more often I'm outta here. If I want one shot crap I'll play POE.

the knight is always present in the last mission of the azure crusade. sounds like you just need to improve your build then

Oh no doubt you are right I haven't reached cap yet so haven't concentrated on it that much. That doesn't change the fact that this boss is way out of line with the rest of the game. This is the only place I encounter this level of difficulty, at least so far.

well people wanted a harder crusade. and crusades are supposed to be a sort of endgame content

Perhaps 'Evok' you are being too hard on yourself.

As the saying goes 'The first step in avoiding a trap is knowing it is there'.

The Chaos Knight is always in the last fight and, sits in the middle of the map until 'pulled'.
Try working around the edges of the map keeping the 'Knight' out of screen whilst taking out the other mobs.
Also make sure you destroy the Regeneration Tower before attempting to engage the 'Knight'. Or at least prioritise the tower for destruction.
Finally, when you see the big red circle on the ground, move out of it.

Hope this suggestion helps. :)

Thanks for the advice guys! I did clear the entire field of enemies, used the turret and minefield and took out all the destructible towers I saw. I didn't see a regen tower only a shield tower that I was able to destroy. It wasn't that he killed me too easily or that I wasn't able to get a shot off, I literally couldn't deal damage fast enough to lower his health AT ALL. Like, total regen between changed longlas shots.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for a regen tower tho.

I was able to beat him on the second try. I am using a lvl 60 crusader gunner that is specced into damage and survivability, though. I cleared out all the rest of the map first, including the shield tower that seemed to be regenerating his shields. It's important to keep moving while using any weapon that pierces armor in any way. You can do a hit and run strategy, hitting for a bit and retreating to get back health. It took a long time, but I finally got him. Awesome loot if you do win, too.

It kinda sounds like many builds are not viable when fighting this guy. Other then taking out enemies and towers ahead of time there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about him. Has anyone been able to beat him with assassin sniper? Or do I need to respec to fight the terribly imbalanced boss?

It's the same in other end void crusades. I met the ultimate boss, but he had an underboss that with one shot depleted 4/5 of my health...so died very quickly even with a specced-out inoculator and loads of Health, Support and Debuffs (lvl 76 Crusader).
If you come across that situation, there is no beating it. Haven't struck the Chaos Knight yet, but am playing that crusade now so surely will.
