Character loading error
I just completed a mission, and can not load my character, game was getting slow, and selling stuff at the shop looked iffy so I closed the game, restarted it, and now can't play it.
Closed the game, closed steam, tried again, game starts, but am still getting...
"Character loading error"...
Please fix this.

thread I read, was kinda closed, and weeks old, and also had this...
(We fixed the problem on our end just a little while ago, please check on your respective characters when you have some time.
Thank you for your patience in the last few days.)
While I would like the problem to have been fixed weeks ago, my situation says that it is not.

Having this same sort of error too. new to this game just got it today when in multiplayer
- cant sell blue items
- finish mission and go back to bridge with empty inventory
- i see my self level up during mission head back to bridge with new levels not showing
- have to leave game to get new levels.

once back in game the next time will have multiples of the same item and cannot sell blue stuff.

leave game only to get "error Loading character"


pretty terrible experience so far i must say..

oh and the icing had black screened my pc 4 times so far (have to hit reset button ctrl alt del doesnt work)

Yup, the servers are having issues. Can't collect rewards or start new missions, as I have rewards to collect...but can't. Rewards load as mission loads, before this all happened.
Now can't even play character(s).

Very slow to reach character screen - No random missions in the list - my Intel missions have dissapeared - is this this Covids fault?

Same on all accounts, had finished missions only to have no rewards from it pop up on command bridge. Quit to menu and get the error loading character and if I'm lucky enough to get in my quest completion rewards pop up. I've tried closing the game completely thinking the lag was on my end, restarted my pc, opening the game I can't even load a character. I cannot even get into the game now. I bought it 2 days ago when the sale started and the lag only started today, when I first played it it was smooth sailing.

yep, slow and clunky today, completely ignored results of my last mission, now telling me "character loading error". Australia.

i wouldnt count on it getting better. its been out for a while and currently there are only like 700 people on the game. how bad do the servers have to be for 700 people to slow them down? i hope they fix it its a really fun game.. just not going to hold my breath :(

I am having the same issue - I noticed none of the loot I had collected was in my inventory, so I restarted the game. Once in the main screen, I tried to log back on with my character, and it wouldn't load. My other character is apparently fine - loads up no worries. Damn it I want this fixed and pronto!

Now I can no longer connect to servers. I noticed a pinned post called "Regarding oflline mode" and I thought "Oh they have an offline mode." open it to find a slew of reasons why the developers want it online all the time, and that's fine, I respect their reasons however if it is online all the time maybe get the online aspect working properly. If this is cause of an influx of people playing, there were only around 2k people in the last 24 hour peak. If you can't fix the online aspect to your online all the time game, maybe an offline mode is a good option.

Thank you for the update. Sincerely am digging this game a lot and intend to play it for quite a while. Hopefully this issue gets resolved :)
