Still no performance and camera fixes?
Took a LOOOOOOOOONG break from this game, more than a year, came back to notice some quality of life changes like void crusades, new assignments and some cool event areas.
But the most pressing issues haven't been adressed yet... the damn camera still a mess and the performance hasn't changed... some maps still crash now and then too.

Is this issue ever going to be adressed? I don't wanna have to buy a new PC setup just to get this game running smoothly, my setup ran Battlefleet 2 on high settings at steady 60 fps

Yet I have to run this game at the lowest settings to get around 50 in most areas.

Never noticed any performance problems. Perhaps it would be helpful to share the actual problem and specs (I know, foolish suggestion, but still, it may help...).
As for cameral, you'll have to elaborate on what "mess" is exactly, as it also seens to work fine for almost everyone.

My old setup from 2016
i3-6100 3.7 ghz (I don't overclock)
8 gbs of RAM (which I make sure at least 5 gbs are free when I'm playing Inquisitor)
GeForce GTX 960 (updated drivers)
Win7 Ultimate 64 bits
The game is installed in a hard drive which I just did a sfc /scannow. No ssd, load times are almost instant anyway.

And the camera still pisses me off since I have to manually reposition it with a mouse bind (default is mouse3 for most people, but I use mouse4).
This greatly affects gameplay, as I have to manually rotate the camera to better see the enemies.

Well, yeah on min specs it should prolly run just fine on that (medium too, probably), just not sure if win 7 is still supported or not. Not sure what the issue you are having is exactly, but it'S always good to disable temporal AA and see if the issue still exists. For some reason, that seems to work for most graphical issues with the game *shrug*. Aside from that, if you are sure your drivers are fine and your HW is not dying, I'd say try contacting support, because the game really isn't particularly demanding even on max.

As for the cam, I can't say I ever considered the ability to rotate camera in isometric ARPGs as opposed to fixed cam an issue, more like a welcome feature, so ... Not sure what to say.

i use space bar for camera. Though i agree, manual camera sucks. i read at one point they had camera fixed behind char, they (proba i think it was) said it was removed because people and devs hated it but they failed to realize that was before the 2.0 overhaul update and the ability to offset camera. i would have probably hated it to if my camera was centered (no offset) and chars moved and rotated much slower than they currently do. I don't think that the decision to remove the locked camera behind player would hold up as good now that 2.0 overhaul changed how the game once was. It was slower in char movements. I personally feel they should at the very least give people the option to lock camera behind via an option check box. Let the players decide what they like best. I don't see any harm from a self made choice that all players have and can make.

As for performance 6th gen i3 is awfully weak cpu for 2018 games. I mean even ps4 has more powerful cpu. I'm based on an old AMD FX8320 with a RX580 16gb ram on win 7 64 i see no performance hits at max gfx. Piledriver architecture was never known to be amazing for gaming to boot. Though i admit, every game i got it can handle on ultra 1080p without a chug. That i am truly grateful for. Though i'm seriously pondering to upgrade to 3700X Ryzen with my stimulus check lol.

Okay, I'm getting confised here. what -exactly- is the camera issue? Is it really just that you occasionally have to adjust it a little when wanting to see better in particular direction?
Grim@FU_BARRACUDA Apr 30, 2020 @ 11:15pm
idk what all you guys have i put cam on right mouse like in any mmo after 30 minutes i got used to the high cam speed and since then its just perfect

but i agree there should be a cam speed slider there is also a bit acceleration or smoothing i guess there should also be a option to disable that

like i said just try ik with cam on right mouse befor i played with static cam but now i would never ever change back to it thats for sure also use wasd movement maks you a lot faster and precise

peace

Guess depends how you like playing the game. I personally would prefer if cam was locked behind my char facing the way it faces. Also may be a class thing im sure melee would prefer more camera view on and around them selves rather than in front of them as far as possible away. (Camera offest was added and solved that cam issue luckily) I keep enemy in front of me at all times so if my cam face what my char did i would indeed love that much more it's tedious always having to rotate the camera to keep up with my direction of travel or point of interest. My suggestion was simple those that would like to use it should be able to those that don't want to don't have to. Could always leave a button around to give free look to those with a cam lock to.
I use wsad movement a and d is strafe not camera turning. I'd put cam turning there but that defeats how I play the game strafe there is more useful to how I play.

Oooh, okay, sorry, I understand now, I was just wondering what issue is there I just completely missed after playing, well, quite a few hours, but I always played pure meele or AD MECH FOREVER *screeches in binary*, never really seeing anything weird about how the cam wowrks and completely forgot you can very well also play it in more of a shooter-y way.

Well there is another odd issue when you go to rotate. The edge of the screen prevents any further rotation.Lets say cursor starts middle screen right? (based on mouse not a controller) You can't rotate anymore in either direction once the cursor hits screen edge. the camera rotate works really odd in this game, compared to about any other game I have ever played with a camera rotation lol. Even RTS games don't have a rotation limit like this. I think camera just needs a bit of an overhaul. If that rotation limit didn't exist, i could probably deal without a behind char lock. As evil40K said there is some sorts of accel on it as well. Camera really needs an overhaul to match the 2.0 game play overhaul from last year, it would seem. The game has changed but camera still same old mechanic. I don't think current camera fits what the game has become now.

By the way no reason for an apology unless you meant to hurt me? From the looks of the question you was just curious what we disliked about the camera. My 1st char was a sniper camera is just hard to work with specially when you need to kite enemies for any specific reason. Though at times free camera can be useful to. 90% of the time I'd be thrilled with a behind char lock for tactical reasons and a bit for QoL reasons. Maybe button to switch lock on n off on the fly would be really nice I wonder if such a thing would be able to mod in? They tell me where file for camera are I'll make an update for them all they need do add to the game I got plenty of time and I am hobbyist game modder i'd be happy to make the addition for free lol.

I cant say anything about performance issues because everything is impressively running very cold in the temps and high FPS for me.

I am confused about the complaint for the camera system. in every ARPG I have every played camera is manually controlled even in Too Human it was manual. If you want it to be facing a direction just point it in that direction?

Maybe the complaint is the strange slowness of the camera moving? I have noticed it isnt fluid but it certainly hasnt been something I would have ever imagined to be a flaw.

think its how it has a limitation, maybe i do a video and show you what i mean would that clarify it properly? there is a limit to the rotation, when say hold rotate button down as I've already explained when cursor gets to edge of screen you have to let up and move cursor back to center to rotate more in either right or left direction. Tell me one other game that has this limitation. i have 840 games ive played 73% of them 90% of my games are arpgs rts games not a single one of them has a limit like this.

I'm about to necro 3 year old topic.
Well the whole camera rotation problem is that cursor is moving when you are rotating camera. Cursor should stay locked in place when rotating camera, just like it works in tab targeting mmorpg games.
