How long is the game?

I've been playing almost none stop, in between breaks and working, and I'm still going. Currently on chapter 3. How many chapters are there and is there a limit to the side quests?

5 Chapters on the main mission, 3 chapters on the Prophecy DLC, and you got several other DLC main missions you can do, am playing now for ~40ish hrs and still i dont have all missions done, also I think side missions respawns all the time, I myself just passed lvl 50 yesterday

I'm level 30 and been playing since end of last week or so. The only gripe i have is the fate currency is so slow to accumulate.

one of the longest arpg campaigns i have ever played im now at more then 700 hours other here have over 3000 hours of gameplay nothing to worry about here

lol, it is a very engrossing game! when your character says "perish filth" after grenading a group of nurgle monsters is very satisfying!

I was level 50 when I finished main story line (with matyr chapter in the title) not counting the side stories. That was playing at the story difficulty as well. BTW not counting prophecy extension of the story. It's long enough I would say. Currently playing on tech adept with prophecy story line not sure what chapter to be honest as it don't say and I haven't looked into it but my guess maybe start of chapter 3 not counting side story line. I wanted to play martyr's story line first so used a sniper. The tech adept I intended be my main char, I just didn't want to miss out on the stories context that martyr laid out. It's long enough to keep you busy. As for game itself, it's as long as you want it to be, like any open ended game. Long as you don't stop it wont.

Believe me, it's better than it was in beta. Oh how we miss the old Tarot system (where you could only do a certain amount of Tarot missions each week, and then it would consume a small amount of Fate each time you did a Tarot mission...)

Interesting! I only recent got into the game because it was on sale. So don't know much about the history of the game. I am a huge fan of warhammer 40k and have had this on my watchlist for a while. I just wish we had a proper space marine game, the last good ones were from a couple years ago and the current crop are interesting but dont feel worthy investments.

The story takes as long as one wants to progress in and with it. Personally, the after reaching 100, most of your time will not be via the story but obtaining 100. Time sink.
