Ok, man. Here's an example of what can wait you.
Hadrcore.
+10lvl mission - 95% damage reduction from your weapon.
Mission: assasination.
Disabled critical hits. Improved speed for melee enemies......And fixed time limit of 5 minutes with a map so big, you will need to move extra-fast even without enemies just to reach another end of it.
Not exactly challenging, you say, huh? :))
Fortunately, there are numerous ways to make it challenging without becoming a masochist to do so. There are helpful guides here and elsewhere that might give some hints, most of which aren't too out-of-date. Also, the game gets re-balanced every once in awhile by the developers, so that might make a difference at some point (although I never totally trust this, since game developers tend to be distracted by their very nature, and might forget the game exists after awhile).
Elites require some strategy to defeat at higher levels, which is why I like them. Having the right weapon for the job helps oodles (like the one heavy weapon that melts metal, which I absolutely love with heavily-armored enemies of all shapes and sizes, especially when they get all 'splodey at the end of it).
Try things, see what works. That's pretty much what this game is in a nutshell, once you've gotten through the story missions. For me, it's shoulder-launchers, grenades and melty guns. Quite satisfying. Your choices may differ, of course. Whatever the case, enjoy.
yea but it shouldnt have to be like that... why cant they just make it more difficult in general without having to add all kinds of weird modifiers? diablo 3 for example always felt challenging without being too hard
they're different games, different design choices were made
You might want to try Path of Exile.
It'll be more fun for you, i guess. Or....get used to Inquisitor - it's actually a really nice game.
Actually, i like Martyr better than mentioned diablo3. Which, actually was a real huge dissapointment after the second game. Felt like cheap mobile game....
Plus their failed choise to use market....Ugh!
Plus - one uuuuuugly, toxic community there.
So....Well...you know.
Hey, bro!
Maybe, people can help you somehow here? What character do you play and what gear do you use?
Or, if you shy, just look for guides....They can really help.
on normal difficulty? im honestly not trying to be snarky but how? on normal most enemies die fast and barely damage you. are you having trouble with the controls maybe? for example holding shift will let you shoot without moving by accident that helps a lot
i didnt say anything about wanting the game to be more like diablo 3... i said they designed the difficulty well enough to feel challenging without being too much. martyr is either far too easy or really difficult theres no sweet spot
