Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr

Plans for picking an Ordo?
Acess to special weapons based on Ordo and aligment would be nice

Also thought about a companion system struck me today.

As Inquisitors we can requisition the resources of the ordos we are in
so in short
Ordo Malleus > Grey Knight companion
Ordo Hereticus > Battle Sister companion
Ordo Xenos > Deathwatch Space Marine companion

Not sure if you guys were reconsidering the companion system, but I'd be happy if they just followed me like the escort targets, while doing some symbolic damage to the enemy while throwing one liners, no need for Ultron levels of AI here.

Would be nice to customize the armor and weapons aswell.

Thx in advance

I don't think we need pet space marines
let's get demon forging/blessed forge items from current morality system first
Technically this is what the end-goal of the Morality system is meant to be.

the morality system is part of the factions not the ordos

Did I in any way say that? No. Use your head before replying.

Pro-tip: Look at the as-of-yet implemented final "rewards" for each Morality tier.

A grey knight companion might EXPLAIN why out simple human inquisitor is slaughtering veteran chaos marines with 10k years of combat experience and the powers of the Dark Gods blessing them and filling them with unholy vigour and strenght (and the ocasional tentacle penis growing out of your forhead because slaneesh is kinky like that) like they are nothing but a particulalrly fat cultist.

I don't exactly want a companion system. I want a full blown retinue system. Limited slots you can split between combat members that go with you on missions and aren't just tokens like the guardsmen but force multipliers and lore helpers for WHY you are capable of taking down chaos marines and tanks like they are nothing, and utility members who buff stuff on the starmap and in investigations. For example: a tech-adept in your retinue could be a cybernetica expert and provide you with a calldown for a servitor squad in the mission to distract and kill or at least entertain a large group of enemies. An administratum adept could through beter intel increase the experience you gain from the mission and let you see the map and enemy placement on it all the time, a socialite could spread the good word of your deeds getting you more glory or cheaper/free PDF reinforcements, and of course, a psyker can boost your fate income. The membership could also have mixed members that benefit both on a strategic layer but go on missions too (the admech, cleric and assassin retinue members would fit the bill quite well, as would a combat-support focused psyker).

In the context of the retinue system, the Chamber militant of each Ordo could get a representative as a sort of "relic" rarity retinue member. They would all be fantastic combat agents, idealy able to hold their own agaisnt most normal groups and a champion (space marines/ogryns are champion, not the villains/commander or the elites which are warmachines) or two (even if they don't kill them all fast), while also bringing some good old fashioned starmap benefits as well. A deathwatch would probably have an intel boost or perfect intel but only for xenos missions or some form of income bonus that gets better on xenos, sororitas could be glory/xp geared with a bonus vs traitors/heretics not straight up chaos legion forces or demons, and the grey knight can get the fate bonus as a psyker would have and of course a bonus to that on missions with chaos demons in them.

EDIT: and I realize people will say that powefull retinue members would make the game too easy because the inquisitor is so powerfull right now. Fine, nerf what the inquisitor can do. I have no problem with that AS LONG AS WE GET THE RETINUE in the game. It would make more sense how you can kill what you kill in this game.

Grey knights are by lore OP. You don't tag along grey knights on a daily basis (or even century basis), they are used in strike teams only in the direst circumstances and not every inquisitor in the ordo malleus has the resources/influence/authority to call them (probably most low ranking inquisitors don't even know they exists). To witness a grey knight is a death sentence even for imperial officials, if you are lucky you get mind cleansed, only very few have the necessary clearing to know their existence and to survive their presence.
Consider that grey knights use only terminator armours and their weapons are forged by space monkeys, they are all psykers and to the date not even one of them has fallen to chaos.
To balance such beast you probably need more than 1 squad from the death watch and an entire monastery of bolther ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (maybe more).

Retainers are different: i would love to have an inquisitorial cadre with throne agents doing stuff and helping, would love to send some agents to investigate a system and getting clues or missions as the results of their own investigations (maybe based on the charateristic/abilities of the throne agents sent), maybe use them in specific missions and so on (better if they can permanently die).
Chamber militant members only for epic missions, maybe at the end of a season/chapter/event

edit:
anyway inquisitors are not common humans, many inquisitors in the lore fought even daemon princes and won! Inquisitors are the best humanity has and they are augmented, conditioned and trained to be exceptional individuals. Ofc they aren't an army and most inquisitors are not capable of legendary feats but still in the game you are surely amongst the most powerfull inquisitors in the galaxy (and for the faithfull you have the god emperor blessing).
