Dual wield gun and melee?
Can you wield a ranged and melee weapon in each hand to have both distances covered in combat? Yanno... One of the most classic WH40k combat styles? I can't find anything on it.

Yes, yes you can.

As long as the gun is pistol.

Yes, you can equip melee weapon in one hand and ranged weapon in another.

That's what I meant. I'd wanna wield a bolter and a power/chain weapon.

ya exept you can only use half of the abilities of the ranged weapon which is stupid as hell

Unfortuantly you cant use both at once. Same goes for pistols. Sad realy that we dont get an option to ignore the secondary skills of our auto pistols and are not allowed to just Dakka both at once at those heretics!

As long as they're one handers you can. Hypothetically you could equip a shield and a gun.
I did yesterday, with a plasma pistol and an arc sword but, because of how the skills work I was a little unimpressed and went back to dual wielding swords.

That sounds dissapointing at hell.

They didn't factor in a spec that'd utilize a bolter+blade?

They designed this wonky system were your mainhand is still left / right mouse button and your offhand gets 1 / 2 which are the equivalent of left / right mouse. So there is no reason at all to use different range weapons akimbo.
To be fair I was a pretty low level and playing an assassin character. However, the system kind of works like this: If I have two swords, I get four skills based on that weapon. If you dual wield separate weapons, you only get the two basic skills for each weapon. I could be wrong and this may be customizable because I didn't get TOO far in, but this was my experience so far. I much prefered having the two arc swords which in turn gave me a leap + whirlwind abililty.

Many of the 'secondary' akimbo, if not all if memory serves since the server is down, skills involve attacking with both pistols. So when you are only using one pistol you physically can not use attacks that involve using two pistols. Makes perfect sense to me.

I know from rocking dual plasma pistols one attack specifically shot both at the same time and went thru cover. Take away one pistol, no longer can you shoot both at same time.

Not sure what the problem is.

Like when you use two different types of pistol you only can use the first two skills from both sets, the ones that involve one pistol, because the secondary skills are for two of the same pistol/damage type.

Unless they changed something.

How do i do it? Put the weapons in each hand?

You only get two of the weapons skills, which might have been fine if they weren't the two weakest and least versatile skills.

I would love if there was an armoury table similar to the psychic power book stand where you could mix and match the abilities of your weapons (and combiweapons would let you mix rifle abilities).

2.0 has promised this in some form. Hope it works out
