Maybe you can make a special page with server status? Becouse its too boring check status every 5 minutes....
What I mean is 6k players is not really a lot. And yes, offline ability would cause less tension on the servers which would have meant they would only need bandwith when actual online interactions are going.
This game is not highly multiplayer focused... in the core it's a single player experience. In D3 you could play multi from the get go, and then it's still a single player game with multiplayer elements. This is a single player game with multiplayer elements.
Only reason for constant online is DRM despite what BS they're telling us.

Hey, we all want to play and are really frustrated. This happens sometimes in launches and it sucks. It happened with diablo 3 too. I hate the wait too, but the game seems pretty good!
