Otherwise, you're right. The Radical Path appears to only be decent for psykers that do a ton of warp damage.
We won't know for a few more hours if the Paths we've been able to see thus far are even the same. They may have totally reworked the Radical/Puritan trees comparred to what we could see in the beta as well as have added some itemization subsystems to support them.
Lots of future potential with this if done properly. Radical being allowed to acquire Xenos retinue while puritan limited to imperial etc.
But yeah radical is pointless in its current state.. lots of potential features missing.
the last Perk of each tree get you daemonic or holy enhancements, no idea what those are to be honest but at least something is there.
I just hope if you end up modifying it, we'll get a way to respec and change path for us who are more oriented on stats and efficiency than story/lore/RP oriented ones.
I was thinking that they could advance it similar to how weapons unlock over levels, but otherwise you're right.
They could also add an increasing % of warp damage to conventional weapons as you get deeper into the tree.

I think it's already a rather,.. bad? design choice to attach perks to your alignment. Even more so, if they are that specific. Faction/Alignment boni should be general.
Like one being offensive while the other is defensive.
Not discriminating your build.
Because what that does is simply making you choose between choosing a side for story reason and not picking up the obvious advantages they bring, or picking them JUST for the advantages.
If the boni have to be so specific, they at least should apply universally. Like "transforming/transmuting" physical/heat damage to warp damage, if it already has to buff warp.
I mean, I'm gonna play a Warp-Damage based AoE Psyker as my first character anyway, but I still think it will feel pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to not be able to utilize the boni of the tree, or having to pick puritan on all other characters to get the boni that actually help me.
In the end, you may ignore them, i guess. It's just a really questionable choice.
