So, when this came out i looked around for some books for lore. Started with this: Xenos: Warhammer 40,000: Eisenhorn. Now im listening to the 2nd in the series and its all been excellent.

What audio book do you suggest after i finished this trilogy? I use audible.

Horus Heresy. I can't remember what latest series is called, also really good. But Horus Hersy if you're looking for more lore on why current 40k is the way it is. if you're lucky you can find a book or two on youtube, the audio versions are top notch. Books 1 and 2 of Horus Heresy audio version are a bit dry, poorly delivered, but after those ones I think they realised the gold mine they were sitting on, quality drastically improves for all ongoing novels.

100% listen to all of Ravenor after Eisonhorn, they deal with a related character and are written by the same author. You'll see the main character in the Eisonhorn trilogy. They're sister trilogies.

Next, the first 3 books in the Horus Heresy at the very least (they're a trilogy themselves), then pick from the rest based on interest. I recommend any full books on subjects you may be interested written by:

Dan Abnett (best/most reliable BL author)
Graham Mcneill (the other best/most reliable BL author, slightly different style)

Oh! Eisenhorn is no longer just a trilogy! A fourth book recently released so you may want that if you don't have it.

Is this Pariah? If so good news, its a whole new trilogy focusing on Alizabeth Bequin.

OP: my personal favorite is Titanicus by Dan Abnett. Its about a titan legion going to war, and is overall some of the best scifi depictions of mech on mech action I've read (note that mech = cathedral sized though)

Horus Rising (by Dan Abnett) is the first book of Horus Heresy series. Here's the audiobook in youtube:

But this audiobook is cut version of the book. I couldn't find any full free version though compared it with the textbook and found out it has all the essential parts.

There should be also fan read version of some other books in YT.

Of course Ravenor and Eisenhorn.

Pretty much anything by Dan Abnett, especially Gaunt's Ghost's but they aren't specifically anything to do with the Inquisitors, still very good books set in 40k though.

So after reasing the eisenhorn books whats next chronologically or doesnt matter much?

After eisenhorn you can read ravenor.

Yeah I'm excited for that! Waiting for the trilogy to be finished before diving in myself.

The order is:

Eisenhorn 1-2-3
Ravenor 1-2-3
Eisenhorn 4 (the Magos)
Pariah (another branchoff story of the Eisenhorn books)

It doesn't matter too much, but that's the optimal order according to Dan Abnett.
