I run impossible missions fairly regularly on my 26 psyker. Generally run missions at +300 fairly efficiently. Here is the build I am currently using:

Perk 1: Unfettered Maneuvering
Perk 2: Retrograde Psychic Dominion

Spells:
Beam: armor pierce, weakness, efficiency
Warp Speed: duration, CD, efficiency
Firestorm: armor pierce, aoe, cd (or efficiency)
Fiery Form (for things that get close): duration, cd, efficiency

Skills:
Pyro tree maxed -- though I need to go back and look at this, because I only think some of the bonuses apply to my pyro spells. I may change this to single target tree after comparing them.

Crit Tree -- Feeding on Pain & Berserker Rage
Debuff Tree -- Castigation & Transfer Strain
Psychic Debuff Tree -- Phase Through & Vunlerability

Gear:
Power level > all damage > heat damage > armor pierce damage

I use pyro staff and Psychic Focus
My armor switches between timestop armor or addl spell armor.

Since Power Level only looks at your HIGHEST weapon set:
Weapon Set 1 is my ONLY weapon set I use
Weapon Set 2 is whatever highest power level combination I could have regardless of stats/gear.

Pack of guys firestorm, beam cleans up anything else.

The other primary damage spell is Haemorrhage and you can do an AOE focused build instead of beam build if preferred.

They are both in the critical skill tree as one of the passive powers you can get.

and do the spells count as ranged skills? is there a point in going in the ranged tree for the crit chance

I know beam does, I think the spell has to be tagged long range for it to count as a "ranged skill."
Burusagi Jun 11, 2018 @ 10:17am
They didn't count before, but recent patchnotes made mention of all Psyker spells now counting specifically as ranged attacks.
dustin1280 Jun 11, 2018 @ 10:29am
Looked up patch notes:
"Telekinesis and Pyromancy now count as Ranged skills for the Psyker"
so yeah any spells in those trees should count as ranged.

if i choose a different class at the creation menu do i get haemorage earlier than lv 15
dustin1280 Jun 11, 2018 @ 10:41am
if you want Haemorrhage at level 1 you will need scryer.
But then you won't get beam till 14.

If you want Beam at level 1 then you will need Empyraenist.
But then you won't get Haemorrhage till level 15.

I think Empyraenist offers the easiest start but they are all pretty even by 15. You will replace all three classes unique perks by that point anyway, none of them are worth it later on.

When you say pyro tree, which tree are you referring to?

300 difference in power sounds incredibly hard at lvl 26. Doesnt that mean you take a huge amount of damage taken multiplier and suffer a massive damage penalty? Maybe I am misunderstanding.

Whats is your critical chance? It's not on gear, judging by your priorities. And neither on perks or skills. How do you proc those skills you picked?
dustin1280 Jun 11, 2018 @ 1:15pm
The tree that requires you to blow up 250 exploding containers...

It's a heat damage based tree...

Yeah I generally am around +100% damage taken and and around 80% less damage given.

The heatbeam with weakness stacks a debuff so damn fast that it's nearly 100% crit after .5 seconds.
The key skill to proc crits so quickly is from the debuff tree: 3% crit chance per debuff

A Beam build is all well and good starting out, but eventually I just switched over to an AoE build to just tear through missions quicker than ever.

Especially if you pick the teleportation armour with it.

With my current build I average
4-6 minute completion on = +100 power level missions

If I am doing +300 I have to be more careful, I haven't really paid attention to my cleartime on +300 missions...

Also for AOE build there is one skill that is super glitched, it's supposed to give +1% damage per mob in AOE but it actually increases damage SIGNIFICANTLY more.

The devs have said they are fixing that particular skill so I just don't know if AOE builds will be as effective after the fix. They still might, I just really don't know personally.

That said I have saved up 6 respec tokens so far so I can always respec my trees if need be.
