Are Inquisitors Space Marines?
As in, are they immortal (aside from bolter fire) like space marines? I alwways thought they were a branch of the space marines. But they are so......tiny...compared to space marines. They still slice things and guns thhings down like space marines. Why are they so tiny compared to the space marines?

No. Inquisitors are "normal" humans, not Space Marines. They are tiny compared to Astartes because compared to an Astartes in power armour a human IS kinda tiny.

If you wanna see something even more fun go look up all the implants and moddifacations that go into making a space marine.

No, Inquisitors are not space marines. Only space marines are space marines, and nothing else.

But inquisitors can still have some form of genetical or cybernetical enhancements that will help them wear power armor. But this is not the same as the ones Space Marines wear since regular humans, even with enhancements, are simply to weak to wear these.

Also, I wonder if an inquisitor would even wear an Astarted armor if able and allowed, they are holy relics presented only to the battle brothers of the astartes and its probably heresy to even suggest someone outside of the Astartes to wear one :D

But in short, no Inquisitors are not space marines.

Inquisitors are not Adeptus Astartes. They're just very highly trained, have access to essentially anything they need, and the clearance to do just about anything they want. They're still human.

Adeptus Astartes are basically super soldiers that go through an extensive series of genetic enhancements that turn them into something "more than human". Even their armor is specially designed to connect to enhancements on their body and form a sort of symbiosis between the two.

Not all space marines can do that though. as not all chapters gene seed is still capable of doing all the neat tricks.

Inquisitors are as said only human however they can live for hundreds of years due to juvenate treatments, basically like extending medical procedures

Very nice question. I also wanted to know the difference. And thanks for all the answers.

It's a pretty common alteration in the seeds it is used to break down food that may be harder to digest or even eat in general

It's techically possible for a Space Marine to become an Inquisitor. Though not likely.

Inquisitors aren't normal humans either, they do get surgical enhancements, some of them are even immortal in age. this doesnt get close to the genetic modification space marines go through though but considering them as normal humans is heresy!

Most humans of rank in 40k have at least some form of genetic or cybernetic enhancement

Well, by the second or third tutorial mission you run into a dead Astartes as well as a living one, so that's a clear way to see how they contrast.

Ok. So physically they are not in the same category as Space Marines. What about....politically? As in to the Adeptus Astartes answer to them or have to obey their commands during an inquisition or purge? (Thanks for the first link, but unfortunately I do not speak German.)

From my minor knowledge of the lore, Inquisitor's basically have near-limitless authority. Even to those of the Astartes (Space Marines), unless said Astartes are under the command of someone with even higher clearance than an Inquisitor.

Though that's mostly through context clues I'm getting through the early parts of the story here. They are on the same side, though their methods can differ greatly.
