Mutated inquisitor would shoot himself faster then he'd be able to shout "heretic" at himself.
The very idea of an Inquisitor allowing themself to be mutated ... probably never going to happen.
Chances of joining Chaos are very, very slim.
hey this pirate game looks pretty good but can i play as an astronaut? NO? WTF
I dunno about that... Especially if the Inquisitor in question is a psyker. Chaos corrupts and inquisitors are still mortal. Not to mention, they spend a hell of a lot of time staring into the abyss without a lot of oversight.
I mean from a game standpoint it wouldn't make sense but it certainly wouldn't be breaking lore.
though radical and puritan are the 2 exrtemes, radicals will do anything they think are needed to achieve their goals with nothing off the table, where puritans will not touch anything that the precieve as being tainted by chaos or xenos, and are quite willing to start purgeing those they think are heritics. sort of a inquisitor comes across a magnificent powersword while purging a chaos temple a normal inquisitor would mark it for later inspection and purification
As if inquisitors couldn't be corrupted by chaos...
he was one of the greatest inquisitors ever and even he fell.
You're an Imperial Inquisitor. You *start* out bad. Your job is to prop up a theocratic hellhole bent on galactic genocide. To do this you are handed unlimited authority and near unlimited autonomy. You torture people for information and retribution. 'There is no innocence, only degrees of guilt' is your motto. You may sentence a whole world to die, innocents and all, if those who oppose the Imperium become too powerful for your organization to deal with quickly simply to free up resources to oppress other worlds.
Hell, one of the starting careers is someone who's made a living as a religious murderer offering up victims (even loyalist ones) as sacrifices to her god.
One of the core tenants of the setting is that there's really not much to set those who worship the Emperor apart from those who worship 'the dark gods'.
