Assassin gameplay
I'm quite bad at using the dodge system and I am also not very agile and I was wondering if the assassin requires one to be much more alert and quick. Would it be easier for me to play a psyker. Psyker does not require dodging right ? Do you need to use cover?

What would be the easiest class for a person with poor motor skills?

I do love how the assassin looks...love the hair.

I tried out the crusader. I find it so much more easier to play than an assassin. I think I found the class I will play. Anyone have a good build for 1h and shield character. thanks

Assassin is great. I never ever used "dodge" thingy, too much hassle.
Instead have an Assassin Power Sword, that gives two mobility attack skills (long range AoE jump with poison DoT and a long range charge-like singletarget skill). And forget Dodge move.
There's a perk, I don't remember the name, that increases dodge % (that is a static skill that applies to all incoming attacks) while dodge move is disabled.

Recently I played Interceptor in Anthem and was pleasantly surprised to see similar melee gameplay in Inquisitor Martyr - which is almost as great. I've simplified gameplay to these key moments:

assassin power sword (2 abilities on 2 and 3 seconds cooldown) assigned to 3 buttons close to each other along with button to roll to mouse cursor (to trigger 50% damage boos perk). I just put cursor on top of a target then faceroll keyboard to hit these three buttons + RMB occasionally (area of effect attack without cooldown) if there are multiple targets. I've added +hitpoints on execution passives and that allow to stay alive and looks great.

This gameplay isn't terribly agile (it doesn't require you to even move fingers on keyboard) yet it's very fun.

Ahh thanks you two that was useful info.

check the box in settings->gameplay "dogde to cursor" http://prntscr.com/o7m19x

In this case you only need to press W for dodge in the direction of your cursor.
If you want to be fast, dont use the "disable dodge" perk. Even with movement mods on your armour you are slow as heck.

Just use a Sniper + Grav Gun. Grav Gun for everything non Boss and Sniper for Bosses. Almost zero dexterity required.

For melee, you'd need Health on strike / kill(strike preferably), Eradicator armor and Infiltrator starting Perk. You can also use the Perk that gives you+15(or is it +10)% Dodge but removes the manual dodge. Also, you can debuff / CC enemies something fierce with Null Rods.

Thank you for the responses. For now I shall stick to the melee crusader finding the character way easier than the assassin I was playing a year ago. I never tried the crusader then stubbornly sticking to the lovely assassin. Yes I am all about looks.

Strangely though I am beginning to warm up to the heavily armoured character and the fact that he is tough to kill and can stand toe to toe is fun. I do miss the clones I had on the assassin I played but I also recall being unable to complete missions.

I am definitely going to retry the assassin and will try all your suggestions.

I followed the opposite route, going with a crusader before 2.0 and with the assassin after the patch.

I found that the assassin with the arc two handed sword is pretty much unstoppable, the synergies with the passive skill trees are insane. But yes, the crusader can be super tanky and fun as well. Go for the crisis management perk, put some points into the health skill tree and you'll become almost unkillable!

Pardon my question but when you play a melee assassin I presume the cover and dodge mechanic wouldn't be used much . Since you won't be hiding behind objects as the point of a melee is to get up close, dodge I can understand may be to get away from a nasty attack but surely not cover.

I will have to look at some melee assassin videos.

Yes, the cover mechanic is mostly useless for melee assins for obviosu reason. However, dodge is pretty good for melee assasin.
You can move a lot faster with it, and there's a perk boosting your melee damage by 50% for a coupel second after using the dodge roll.

But basically, when playing assasin, don't think of the dodge move as, well, dodge move, but actually as movement skill. Simply roll towards enemeis or cover, or use it to speed up some mroe between enemy groups.
There is also a good few skills in various tree's that gives you some boosts and bonuses when using dodge moves.

But awlays keep in mind, the dodge move is just an option. It uses the same resource as your armor skill, so if you gonna use a lot of the atmor skill you won't be using many dodge moves.Similarly, there's a perk to have the personal teleporter belt item run on adrenaline too instead of charges. So plenty of uses for the class resoruce, and no need to use dodge moves if you don't want to.

I never use cover, in fact I changed dodge to cursor and use the space key, making it easy and intuitive to use. I actually center my playstyle around dodge, criticals and time dilation. Dodge is not only used to avoid attacks, but with a passive from the melee tree, a perk and another passive from the support tree, dodge boosts damage by 70% for 3 seconds an heals you as well!

Oh, and also another option if you don't want to use dodge to curser:
I have ste up dodge to use the wasd keys, so oyu dodge aroudn like you move aorudn in msot games, making it vary intuitive imo and even more usefull than just dodge to mouse

Thanks so much. I am going to make a melee assassin now. Oh which one of the three should I start as at first?

Depends what you want to do exactly. I like the pogosassin, which uses the assin 2h power sowrd, and goes full out on doge moves form ovement and buffs, cd reduction and crit to basically permanently roll-jump-blink aorudn the map and enemies. There's a couple of guides aorudn on the net that explain how you build that one.

I personally went with criticals and support and then expanded to single dps, melee and movement. You need an eradicator armor, the armor skill time dilation is super useful.
