Intel - what's the point?
What is the point of intel? It gives you a random mission a few levels higher and the rewards I got for the three I completed didn't seem any better than what I would normally get. Why would I do this instead of simply bringing up the level with a Tarot card? I had 19 of them and sold them since I hate the randomness aspect of it since I dislike some mission and enemy types. That seems to be the only good use for them since each is worth 200k.

They're extra randomized missions, like you said. That's the point of them I believe to mix things up and such. I almost always do them and then modify their parameters with Tarot cards. I sell a couple here or there because they're worth a lot of credits.

But you can just pick and choose missions instead of the level you want and then modify them. How is Intel a better way of doing that?

Use tarot on them and they'll have MASSIVE rewards compared to regular missions.

Sure, but intel missions are randomized with modifiers, etc. Then tack on your own modifiers, i.e. Tarot, and your reward bonuses are far more than if you pick and choose a mission and then modify it.

What's the point in literally anything but Void Crusades?
They literally finance themselves, at the shortest only take 3 missions and reward ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of Relics.

Why would you do anything else? Other than Prio Assignments for Morality Points.

Yeah but then you end up with ridiculous modifiers and multiple ways to get killed in one shot to the point where you play super conservative unless you already start off with a min-maxed build. It's not fun.

I am starting to come to the same conclusion.

Eh, I like it, it's challenging. I am by no means min-maxed, I never play that way in any RPG. It's frustrating dying all the time but it helps me experiment with builds, perks, weapons, etc.

Lets face it, this game is more about gear checks than skill, when you go up against crazy modifiers only cheese builds survive so putting more and more modifiers on not only ruins the game flow but is also an exercise in pointless frustration.

Another positive for Intel missions is that they are guaranteed to be set at your level.
Void Crusades also start at your level but steadily increase if you choose to branch out; personally speaking sometimes whilst progressing along a crusade I like to take a break as it were, and complete an Intel Mission.

TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND CREDITS, that's the point! :steamhappy:

Having done multiple Intel-Missions:
they are not guaranteed to be on your level.

Yeah, I sell them as soon as they drop for me, they are otherwise worthless.

If people say that they have personally come across Intel Missions that are not at their character's level, then obviously I cannot comment; however, having done numerous such missions myself what I can say is that they have always been at my level.

Lucky. It's only 10% chance they are at your level, usually it's +2 but has a 10% chance of being +5.

I like them. Perhaps not enough to not sell them, at least before I reach 100... But still.

Since commenting immediately above a month ago, I certainly have come across Intels of up to 3 higher then my level, never more and never less. Whether that is because in the past month NC have tweaked them or improbability given the percentages quoted I cannot say; it would be interesting to hear how these quoted percentages became common knowledge.

Also during the past month I have noticed that the instances of extreme variables, such as all mobs being Heavily Armoured or reflecting back significant percentages of damage, etc. are less. Again whatever the reason I do not know, when I do come across them, I just leave them there and either come back to them after the character has gained a couple of levels or undertake them with another character.
