My client crashed while on a dedicated server, now my "old" character zooms away [FIX]
Here is a scenario

I am playing on a dedicated server with a couple of friends, and twice today my game has crashed while I was in proximity to creatures (I did send the crash reports for each crash). Both times, once I was able to restart the game and log back into the server, I had been killed by the creatures - however, instead of a create where I died, there was an "offline player" there.

The first time this happened, I noticed a 'Hold E to revive' and tried that, but when the corpse revived it zoomed off (sitting, drinking coffee as it slid across the ground) and disappeared. I was not able to find the offline player clone after that, so I recreated the inventory I lost and continued playing.

FIX:

Reboot your Dedi Server and the "old" character should respawn in it's location of death in a sit & sip position, from there you can kill the "old" character and retrieve your inventory.

Hope this helps someone?

There is another solution to that problem without needing to restart the server. The sliding of the "creature" is caused by some discreapency between the server and the client. Technically the afk-player does not slide at all and that is only a visual bug on the client side, so if you locate the original spot where it was before sliding you can kill it, by throwing some nobelisks onto it's hitbox. It's original location is where you first revived. If you don't know where that is exactly, when reconnecting the sliding thing is reset back to the spot of revival. It still slides, but you can throw nobelisks ant it's original location.

This happened to me as well today, thanks for the heads up to just kill it. I was confused how it lost track of who I was I guess.

I am crashing a LOT around creatures lately though. I guess I have to leave the exploring to the other players for now.

I wish I could have seen that myself
man dedicated servers get all the cool bugs.

I too have found the crashes are most often when a creature spawns in, or the server communicates that too slow to the client. So far creatures seems to be the most common crash reason.
