Global Illumination reflections option missing?
As in the title, I don't have an option to change global illumination reflections setting, was it removed in 1.0? I can only set global illumination, but it seems to be screen space only and I can no longer light my whole factory with emissive signs only (as I was doing in 0.8).

Might've been removed due to poor performance as it wasn't only screenspace so maybe not worthy keeping.
Or included in the overall GI setting, I haven't played with customizing my factory too much, so not really sure yet, have you checked if the high setting also only uses screenspace?

My other settings are pretty much maxed out. I've played with console commands a little and was able to force lumen reflections, but they're screen space only when reflecting small objects (like doors and signs). I don't have biggest signs unlocked yet, so I'm interested if they will work.
Edit: Billboards still work as a light source and you don't need lumen reflections for it.

Ok, I've implemented it back for myself. I've added those lines to Engine.ini file in \User\AppData\Local\FactoryGame\Saved\Config\Windows

[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.Lumen.TraceMeshSDFs=1
r.Lumen.TraceMeshSDFs.TraceDistance=2048
r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.TracingOctahedronResolution=32
r.Lumen.Reflections.Allow=1
r.Lumen.Reflections.SmoothBias=1

First three are needed to use small signs as light sources, fourth enables Lumen reflections (duh) and fifth makes them crisp instead of blurry, but that's just my personal preference.

Nice tinkering, will definitely try it out myself, so thank you for giving it some time lol!
I wonder how big of a performance hit that could cause on different factory size levels...
I do play Satisfactory on GFN from time to time, not only on my PC, so I wonder if these would also work as console commands or do we need to edit engine.ini explicitly?

Okay, update - I did manage to make it work (also works via commands) but holy jesus, the performance hit is crazy af, even in a nearly brand new world and with TSR upscaling from 50%
Yeah, even RTX 4080 with DLSS might chug sometimes actually. On top of that, it looks really... off. The resolution of the reflections are sometimes really dissatisfying. But that's what we get for turning up features that weren't finished or planned lol

The reflections are nice, but for the sign lighting I prefer:
[SystemSettings]
r.AOGlobalDistanceField.MinMeshSDFRadius=14

Either option (lumen or GI) only effects the 3+4m label signs though, the others are still screen space only..

Nope, Lumen is just that bad for performance. Look up "Threat Interactive" on YouTube and you'll find videos from them talking about how Lumen is a joke compared to other Global Illumination methods. Unreal 5 in general has just been awful from a technical perspective and Lumen is probably the biggest example of that, which is sad because it really does look nice if you tweak it enough and don't go anywhere near the Northern Forest.
