Newest Patch Breaks The Game - No EOS Overlay Error
Hello there. So the game post 1.0 launch was ironically working fine for me until yesterdays patch 12/09/2024

Now when attempting to open the game the satisfactory logo flashes then the game crashes. Further attempts after this results in this screen and error:
"Couldn't start: Steamlibrary\[generic filepath info]\Win64\FactoryGameSteam-Win64-Shipping.Exe" FactoryGame-No_EOS_Overlay CreateProcess() returned 2. "

I have already verified game files several times, reinstalled the game and run as admin and the same issue occurs every time.

Device specs if relevant are:

Omen Laptop 15

Windows 11

AMD Ryzen 4800H

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti

check to see if your Anti-Virus is blocking Satisfactory files.

Steam and satisfactory are both whitelisted. No error occurs from anti virus.

Ok so i went back and fully disabled all my anti viruses on the laptop and NOW it works.

Did a little testing and it looks like what's happening is that the anti virus is straight up deleting the file on load and then locking the filepath from being edited again, effectively making the verify game fails on steam option not work at all.

What I ended up having to do to fix this issue is to disable the anti virus, then verify the install files, then add an exception for the file specifically (add the full filepath to the file including the file name) to my anti virus, the file being: FactoryGameSteam-Win64-Shipping.exe and then when i turn on the anti virus and run the game again it launches and proceeds as normal.

shoutout to @Paragon for the suggestion. I did not expect the anti virus to straight up delete the file without giving me any info whatsover. :bullseye: :approved:

I had the same issue. Norton had quarantined a single file.

I am having the same issue. I will check with my virus protection and hope I get this figured out. I have been playing this game for the last 2 years during early access and really excited for the 1.0 release
