From main menu go to online settings
then you can see your account info and also a place to add login for steam/epic. My guess is in this menu you have an epic login there.
If it had a login to Steam option, this issue would have been solved immediately, yesterday. Again, not my first time playing, and it was still working as expected ~2 months ago.
You're correct that it says Epic in the online settings, which is the problem. I don't have an Epic account. I've never logged into Satisfactory on an Epic account. It's just decided after the last time I turned off the game that my platform is now Epic.

Platform Epic
Has valid epic login No
Somehow the game has latched on to epic on your PC. Make sure epic is not installed at all.
Otherwise this is a good thing to upload as a bug report to the devs web site so they can look at it.
Its possible this could be a problem buried in your windows registry, Reinstalling doesnt normally change pre-existing registry entries.
Maybe look here in regedit
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Coffee Stain Studios\FactoryGame
I am still digging around for more. Although I might not find my old epic login here since between having the epic version of the game installed and now I have formatted this PC so none of my old epic login details will likely exist in my registry of this instance of windows.
Also l just below this is a entry for Epic Games but on my current system it only has a sub entry for the unreal engine. I would check there and see something other than unreal engine is listed and see if that is triggering the game to think you have an epic login.
I also found OP here:
https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/post/677304f0c10ae65555c78cc3
... but both solutions presented, when work (and they only worked if executed together), get reverted as soon as the game is closed and relaunched. The account keeps getting set back to Epic. I do not have an Epic account.
Any help is welcome. I am tired of deleting folders and registry entries without any guarantee of success.
Thanks in advance!
If you haven't yet, you might start a thread of your own over there, referencing that one and the fact that yours keeps reverting. They're fairly helpful over there. I was pretty much ready to just not play anymore rather than deal with such a dumb issue.
I ended up solving the problem by going to the game directory and running it as administrator. Magically, the issue was gone. But this must be done every time. If I start it through Steam it rolls back to Epic.
