Broken under Wine on 1.0.0.2
I and many others have been running this successfully for a while under Wine/Crossover/Whisky, unfortunately the 1.0.0.2 hotfix appears to have broken the game as it no longer launches.

Until there's Mac/Linux support this is very frustrating. It was working well before!

My lack of knowledge also prevents me from starting Satis, I have tried a few things but without success.
Everything has an end and an end always results in a new beginning.
I've spent 1k hours ingame myself and still can't play it today, I'll have to move on to other games.....

If you bought it on steam, play it through steam using proton-GE. Works without issues.
No reason to start messing around with lutris unless you pirate the game.. Do you guys use pirate versions?!?

Using lutris will only create issues for you, for example like you just now experience.
Use the tools available for you, and steam is without doubt the easiest way to game on linux.

I once read something about it, I'll have to try it out.

i had to start the game with -dx11 flag. Working fine otherwise with proton experimental on steam

Witch is why you should use proton-GE, that is a fork of proton-experimental but with testing and fixes done to work better on dekstop machines.
The "normal" steam proton might work for you, but is for the steamdeck (kinda).
Just install proton-GE and select that in steam and be done.

I won't go into details how to install, because it varies vastly depending on what distro you are using.

Proton experimental is working for me at the moment, although it does seem to be affected by the input latency issue if I have vsync enabled.

If you want to try Proton-GE, there appears to be a decent install tutorial on makeuseof that covers installing it on Lutris and Steam with or without Flatpak.

If you're not currently using the Flatpak version of Steam, you could try that, although be aware that the flatpak is basically a third party wrapper for Steam so it's technically not as trustworthy. Sometimes Flatpak can eliminate certain edge cases with your system configuration. That's what it's for - to make installing software more convenient.

I'm on arch, so I have the AUR available for me, and I trust the dude managing the -bin version.

Otherwise, I think using
asdf [asdf-vm.com] as mentioned on the proton-GE github [github.com] could probably be a good solution.

I managed to get Satisfactory to run on my M1 MacBook Pro using Whisky after CrossOver failed. It worked intermittently for a couple of weeks but as of today, every time I try to start the game, it starts to load once Steam opens but then reboots the machine. So frustrating.
