Dedicated server issue.
So I set up my dedicated server, it's all working people can join, no issue and when they come and go it's all fine...

But when I leave the dedicated server closes down, the cmd box doesn't say anything it stays open like it is working but the server becomes "offline" until I close and relaunch the dedicated server box.
Anyone know what's up with that?

Yup, can confirm it's from running on the same machine. Sanity checked myself and ran the server on my mother's computer. Works now. Docker might work but I can't be effed to set that up.

All threads i found in common with this issue has the same componet: us trying to run the dedi on the same machine we playing the game on. From what I gathered this was not an issue in update 8... I even tried using different windows user (I noticed dedi and game share same %appdata% dir) and that still did not work.

My best guess is I am "the owner" of the server, as I was the first to log in to set it up. But the point of running it dedicated was so I could also come and go while my friends kept playing lol

Are you adding the unattended flag or setting things up to autostart? Might be worth looking through the wiki and see if you missed something.

Funny enough that is how I set up the server, maybe I messed up something I'll look through it again, alas I have it on epic so I have to do that method.

Ah yes there was something the wiki says to delete "launcher_id" but through automated or manual searching i cannot find this file. maybe something to do with that over writing settings for epic? idk
however the commands are there in the file
LogInit: Command Line: -log -unattended...

That is how it is written in the factorygame.log

Note i found the Launcher ID its not in the DS files though its in my normal Satisfactory files? i shall test i
Never mind it looked like it was working then it failed.. xD well ill keep going

are you hosting it on the same machine you are playing? I think that is the issue, found 2 people who fixed this problem by moving the dedicated to another machine.... Could try docker instance?

Yes i am, cuz i built this machine with the specs to handle hosting and playing lol well ill see what i can do with testing on that front

I only get the same crash log every time as well
[CrashReportClient]
bHideLogFilesOption=false
bIsAllowedToCloseWithoutSending=true
CrashConfigPurgeDays=2
Stall.RecordDump=false
Ensure.RecordDump=true
bImplicitSend=True

Thats it

You can try docker or a VM if it gets down to it.
