Encryption Token Missing - Dedicated Server

Hey guys,

does someone already have an idea how to connect to dedicated servers? It worked in experimental but now I got the message "Encryption Token Missing" when I try to join the server.
If I add it in the server list (server manager) ingame it says "Failed to connect to server API"

The server was updated manually to 1.0 and seems to be running...

It looks like you may need to launch directly from the exe without any arguments and/or port forward 7777 on UDP/TCP to resolve the API error. However, I still haven't found a solution to the encryption error, other than joining directly from the Server Manager page.

Have the exact same problem as OP.
1.0 Server installed on separate PC and launched normally.
Firewall configured (standard ports).
Friend get the same errors as OP.
I saw the excrypthion Message while connecting from same Local network as server and was able to connect to server.

Main menu -> Server manager -> Add your server.

Joining directly doesn't work.

I use Arch btw.

kind of got it to work but now it will randomly disconnect me and server manager says it's offline while the console doesn't show any error.
this now also happens every time i quit the server to main menu. it shows offline and i have to restart the server to join again. any ideas?

I get the failed to connect to server API only for a few seconds like the server is still starting up

I also host a dedicated server on a linux machine (ubuntu).

I can connect. My friend in Seattle can connect. My friend in Oakland cannot. They see the encryption token error.

This is likely a bug that will be patched in an upcoming hotfix.

Turn on UDP/TCP on port forwarding, you need both.

My friend and I got it to work. He was initially getting cert error until I forwarded ports UDP/TCP 7777,15777, 15000 on the machine hosting the dedicated server.

Friend added server at the main menu in the "Server Manger" option and was able to connect, receive cert and join from there. (A "join game" button in the bottom right)

Worked for me, I had only turned on UDP (since the experimental version), but it seems like TCP needs to be active as well.

I got to work under linux forward port are now TCP

I thought I did this, but turns out I missed the beacon port.
Now the game port (7777), Beacon Port (15000) and Query port (15777) all have the TCP and UDP protocols enabled but.... my buddy in Oakland still gets an encryption token error.

I double checked the log, it's the same error:

Also seeing this issue on a local network with no firewall rules.

Same issue, I can connect to the server if I join it through the server manager but if I try to join through the "Join game directly..." option from the "Join Game" menu it doesn't work, giving the encryption token missing error.

Same problem here. I can join my dedicated server from inside and outside my network, but only via Server Manager. If I use the JOIN button (which I would suggest for friends connecting to the server), I get the "Encryption token missing" error.

I shouldn't need to give all my friends admin access (not that I don't trust them) just to join a dedicated server, I assume.
