Late game performance is inexcusable
There's really nothing else to say. Just wandering around the world on foot, not even going all that fast, and with my entire world turned off (thanks to a power problem I'm trying to fix), I'm dropping below a single frame per second. I'm running a 5950x and a 4090 with 64 gb of RAM, and the server that I'm hosting the game on is similarly specced. This should not be considered a launch ready state.

I'm late game as well...but do not have this issue...why do you assume its the games fault and not on your end? Granted your rig is powerful but maybe you have a conflict somewhere? Server issue maybe?

The server is barely taxed, sitting at around 20% CPU utilization. It's nowhere near running out of RAM, and if it's bottleneck is streaming from long term storage, it's storing everything on a PCIe 4 M.2. The server is also sitting in my closet, I'm not even leaving the LAN, so there's no latency.

I don't see how it could be anything other than the game.

If it was the game...wouldn't I be seeing the same issue as you? Runs fine on my 3 rigs...

Are you getting any errors in your Windows error log?

"It runs fine on my machine" is not evidence that it's a me problem. It's very possible your save files are simply much smaller, or you don't have some setting turned on or off, or you don't have some edge case that causes massive performance losses.

right, but to be fair
"it doesn't run fine on my machine" is not evidence that it isn't lol.

A friend of mine and I are literally filling up the last space elevator parts right now, and there's almost no issue at all....except a spot where my dumbass put a 64x64 jpeg-imported meme made up of 0.5m signs, oops.

I have 1900 hrs in this game...one of my saves is huge...I have nearly the same specs as you...along with 2 other systems...maxed settings...never have I seen a FPS drop like yours or even close...

Please don't come here and blame the game without knowing for sure what the problem is...

Have you tried to delete your GPU Cache and DirectX Cache?

No and I'm not going to. This is not an acceptable answer to the problem.

Hell i'm running a 3070 and im not even experience the kind of drops he has explained in my WORST moment.
Actually, that's a lie, I had one bug where I was on multiplayer as the client, and lights did something weird with reflections, and as soon as they clicked on tanked my FPS. Multiplayer is a bit weird still these days, lol.

I have had this problem with this game now, in U7 when I last played, and in every single update before that, as have my friends that I have played the game with, regardless of who was hosting or whether we were playing single player or using a dedicated server or p2p co-op. It has always happened regardless of hosting environment or hardware or OS.

Looking at my performance metrics, when I start encountering the problem, the CPU fluctuates somewhere between 20% and 40% usage, the GPU drops down from 60% to 40%, and ethernet is well under 1 Mbps. RAM sits at no higher than 16GB ever, so that's not the probelm since I have far, far more than that.

20% cpu utilization is moot if it's actually 100%ing a single core and putting no load on any of the other cores; Which is the case for most programs and games even to this day. We struggle a lot to utilize multiple cores for a program, and even when we do as is the case with bleeding edge titles, it's not full on multithreading, it's tossing some lesser stuff like audio or queuing mechanisms onto a secondary or tertiary core, and the bulk of the work of the program state is still being carried by the primary core.

So, In short, You absolutely could be running into a cpu bottleneck. What you would need to see is the individual core loads, not the overall averaged number provided by, eg, Task Manager's process list. That said, with a 5950x i'd find it odd that the performance is so degraded when everything in the world is 'off' at the moment, it sounds like the problem lies elswhere in general

The server is running a 5900x instead of a 5950x, which should mean that single core performance is slightly higher, if anything.

So your just going to ignore a helping hand that's offering ideas to diagnose your issue? Your just going to come here and point fingers and blame the game?...I tried...good luck.

It is the game's fault, regardless of your running defense of it. I'm not going to delete any caches, I shouldn't have to.

It is clear. It's clear you don't want to accept that your beloved game has some problems and you would prefer to shift the blame onto the person experiencing the problem.

Satisfactory really was not ready for a 1.0 release. This update should have been called Update 9.
