Keyboard Shift Key Help

North America. Every time I want to use the calculator, or add to the to do list I have to hold the shift key for five seconds or I get gibberish or a multiples of ten. Even after 10 mins it seems to reset. Highly annoying. Never had an issue with any other game.
All these updates, this still persists.

Anyone have a permanent solution?

If meaning the in-game calculator, for me, I press the [n] key which pops-up the search/calculator input, so unsure what the "hold the shift key for five seconds" is in aid of? If using MS-Windows, holding the [Shift] key for a while is likely to trigger their "sticky keys" feature (Windows 7 had it, pretty sure Win10 did/does too, dunno if still exists in Win11?), maybe that's interacting with the game somehow, but yeah, never experienced what you're describing.

I don't know what gibberish you mean. Could you please take a screenshot what is happening when you want to add something into To-Do List? Thank you.

shift key isn't involved in calculator (and IIRC also not in adding task to the to do list or at least I dont use it. I just press Q (or any menu) and then move my mouse to the right screen border which opens the to-do-list)

When inputting text in calculator, shift lock is on by default.(Signs, any input text)
Holding the shift key for 5 secs disables this temporarily.
Shift lock key does not undo this, or start it. Plus if I hit it, the keyboard light comes on.
Just went thru my keybindings on a lark, nothing there causing it.

After 5-10 mins, game reverts keyboard back to shift lock. Have to hold shift again to fix.

In 20 years with IT, this is first time I am reading about Shift Lock.

This is definitely just problem in your Windows settings with Sticky Keys. Turn them off and try again.

Also, please, as I asked before, screenshot.

Opening "N" command in Satisfactory is just ingame textfield that has nothing to do with you keyboard settings fot this particular game.

What is locked shift? It is capslock.

However, Satisfactory is NOT activating capslock for me, IIRC I can write small and big letters in the to-do-list

Oh yes, sticky keys. The guy who programed that should get slapped a good while. Always deactivate sticky keys as it makes problems in many games.

Sticky keys were off. Key board only affected while game runs.
Caps lock, since we gotta be proper, still persist. Christ.

Solution: Settings/devices/typing/advanced settings/ Select, "use language list (recommended)/ check box "let me use a different input language for each app window"

I mean.. sticky keys would have been my guess..

they DID try to help you, albeit in a rude manner.

Glad you got it fixed though.
