a. Will they do something about this? When?
b. What can I do about this without buying something?

Firstly please check your system's specs meet the game's minimum requirements which is the following:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10 or later (64-Bit)
Processor: i5-3570 3.4 GHz 4 Core
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1650/GTX 1050-ti, or AMD RX 470/RX 570, or equivalent performance & VRAM
Storage: 15 GB available space
Additional Notes: Internet connection required for multiplayer. The game is in early access and minimum requirements may change.

Whenever UE crashes, it will most likely generate a crash report. Send that report here so I know where to start searching for a fix. We can't really help you if you didn't give much info to work with. Also try the usual restarting your PC, removing mods, verifying game files, and updating drivers/OS.

You can check device manager. Right click the windows start menu (bottom left), if you are running windows.

Look for "display adapters"

Alternatively, click on "Help" in the Steam Client, then click on "System Information". Wait a bit and then copy the contents of the box and paste it here.

chances are it's your cpu(2.2GHz) isn't very fast, and depending on how big your build is 8gigs should be enough but if your build is big 8gig will not be enough to run game and o/s smoothly.....
gpu is fine..

Are you ever going to test that yourself on an 8 GB system?

Failing that, are you ever going to post a copy of your "big build" savefile so that others can check how well Satisfactory runs?
So what's the problem for me?
Will the devs do something about other peoples like me? I wasn't expecting they would go to UE5 because I tested the game before that and I can open it just fine.

yes i did try use'in just 8gigs of ram on my system and game of 500+hrs and it ran like CR*P or would just freeze then crash...
your 40+hrs of play is no match for what i have built and i have proved to you that my game and o/s when running needs more than the 8gigs ...so your 40hr build compared to a 500hr build is no MATCH, and i have nearly 5000hrs of game play 4500hrs on my old system before update and 500hrs for update 8 on new system(had to upgrade to play U8 nicely)...

YES if you don't have many HRS of play(like you at 40hrs) then 8 gigs should be fine (already said this) but if you have many hrs LIKE me(500) and maybe a few others THEN 8gigs of ram will not be enough to play game nicely at decent fps and no stutter'in...

and if i knew how to do that safely i probably wouldn't mind share'in my build...(some info on how to do that would be nice)..

NOW PLEASE DROP IT.....thankyou

Oddly enough, you only showed screen shots of your machine running with 16 GB and not with 8 GB.

your 40+hrs of play is no match for what i have built
I chose a save with ~40 hours of play because that is how long most people actually play this game. I have hundreds of hours in the game, and individual saves which have been played longer than 40 hours.

Playing Satisfactory for thousands of hours does not prove anything about how well it runs on the recommended system spec of 8 GB. Your fallacy here is known as argument from authority.

NOW PLEASE DROP IT.....thankyou
Post your savegame and I will drop it-- after describing what happens when I test it for myself.
