The game tells you that its going to save, did you never notice?
Just decrease the frequency.
Since U8 the autosaving stops the game and saves the progress, if you set the default time from 5 minutes higher, it will take longer to save all changes.
when my game autosaves, the fps goes from 45 (4k resolution) to 20 fps.
Anyway, it sounds like you have a third-party app that is consuming CPU resources occasionally as the game doesn't do anything like that by default. So if it's not autosave, and you have multiple monitors, you can watch the task list and sort by CPU and watch for the one that goes to the top once in a while when the fps drops. Then you can deal with the offending program.
600hours in and all of a sudden game randomly enters like a 2-4fps state which it doesn't come out of?
Happens randomly.
-i went from ultra to low settings = no change.
-Old/new saves affected = it's not the base size.
-cpu/GPU temps are fine.
