I havent played with the designer in a while having most of the designs I prefer to use already done but maybe I will go back up and see if Ican cause this issue with verious designs I use.
i could not pass like 5 minutes of fiddeling around in the desinger without the game crashing
I have seen crash on clearing of a design only once and that case it was found be me to be due to using a conveyor hole on a wall that came from a mod that lets me put conveyor holes on any wall anywhere I like. I have since just stopped using mods in any designs and since I have almost no mods that add anything to the game its not hard. the only mods I have are the conveyor hole and an elevator mod and its been easy to avoid those in my designs since then
so all that was to bring up the suggestion or question is if the crashes seem to be related to any particular design (even its not including mod items) to see if some combination of things in the design itself is part of the cause of the crash.
say if you design a blue print that contains only a single foundation and nothing else...can you clear that without a crash? how about a single factory wall.
and if any of these dont crash what do you need to add to recreate the crash.
now if any possible simple blueprint clearing causes the crash I would stop and go back and do things like re-verify game files in steam/epic and look into your current drivers or maybe changing game settings like graphics and other things.
- i only use / want to creat "simpe" designes atm ... like only belts, machines, conveyors and the nesessary power tools .... no walls or fancy decoration.
- i don´t use mods
- gonna verify gamefiles now
-did forget to metion earlyer thta i even tryed played the game 4 a while and created new saves and loaded from there .. did not as well
- this is the crashreport btw if u are interested https://prnt.sc/afCUxshTacaH
What you should do is take the crash report and any info on what you need to do to cause it and any info you know of that doesnt cause it and pust as much detailed info on the https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/search?category=crash web site. also make sure to include some hardware info such as gpu and drivers and such that may be relevant to the crash. They should have a pinned post there explaining the things they want you to include but I have never needed to file a bug report so I dont know for sure. but any normal developer would have a bunch of things they want you to include with the crash report.
... i fiddled around some more with rebuilding the designer and creating new designs etc....
in the end when i "clear the designer" with the button on the designer it keeps crashing
maybe there is others with a similar problem and you guys can pool your info together and find a better solution or help the devs solve it.
