Huge log files normal?
Under the save location ( AppData\Local\FactoryGame\Saved\Logs ) the game generating exceptionally large text log files. Is this normal? largest is 293 MB *of just text*. There are tons more log files too. It's eating up what little rooom I have on my nVME drive.

Can I just delete these files after every session?

Logs are just logs. Probably only needed for troubleshooting. The game itself probably doesn't use, other than writing to them.

Yeah, mine are small too, but haven't played in a while.

Aye a couple were too for me, most were massive.

Anyways, deleted them all. Freed up just over 1G. Guess I'll just check it after every session.

Thanks

If your log files are that big after just getting the game and only putting in a dozen hours or so, you need to verify your game files, something is corrupted and causing recoverable errors that get written to the log file.

Delete them all, play the game for 30 minutes, then post the log file here.

Alternatively:
Open the log files, select all the content, delete, save. Right click on the file, at the bottom select Read-Only, then click OK.
This will prevent the game from adding more stuff to the log files, it shouldn't cause the game to crash - if it does, just undo the read-only flag.

I have both small and larger logs, my guess would be the larger files include memory dumps from crashes

Should be safe to delete them

Here's the most notorious message in these log files:

[2022.08.31-23.55.00:815][ 91]LogNavigationDirtyArea: Warning: Skipping dirty area creation because of empty bounds (object: FoliageInstancedStaticMeshComponent /Game/FactoryGame/Map/GameLevel01/Tile_X3_Y3.Tile_X3_Y3:PersistentLevel.InstancedFoliageActor_0.FoliageInstancedStaticMeshComponent_21)

Error entries *like this* (LogNavigationDirtyArea) take up 95-99% of these log files but with different coords (X3_Y3) and different meshes (FoliageInstancedStaticMeshComponent_21) blasting out 100's of these lines per *milisecond*.

I play Northern Forest.

So, being I have never crashed in this game AND it runs buttery smooth, never had an error *in-game* that hindered play is there a way to completely shut off logging of errors being it doesn't actually hinder game play and functionality while in a session.

I have no need for these error logs and rather not have to remember to go to the logging directory every day to delete all these files.
