Constantly crashing - FIXED
Since the last update my game is constantly crashing. It crashes if I am opted into the beta or not.

My single player game (which is not opted into the beta) has a very large base i am able to play for maybe 5 minutes and then the game freezes and i get a crash report. I have tried switching it to the beta but with the same result. In both instances I have reduced my video quality. It allows me to go maybe 5 minutes more but then also crashes.

In my multiplayer with a friend we have a smaller base and did crash twice last night. We both lowered our video settings in that as well and seemed to be fine afterward.

I use no mods. I have verified my game files which say they are fine. I updated all my drivers after this started occurring but the problem persists. I have scanned my machine for any malware using malwarebytes and trend micro and both come up clean.

It sort of seems to be related to a problem with video. My hardware should have no problems running this game. Specs below:

Intel I7-7800 3.5 GHZ
32 GB ram
RTX 2080ti
SSD's (steam library has its own dedicated SSD for game files)

Anyone have any suggestions?

So I changed to DX11, turned off Nvidea Boost, Turned off my AV, dropped shadows, lighting effects and render distance way down. Its laggy but its not crashing
False alarm, just crashed again
It's crashing because your GPU is disappearing briefly. Could be faulty hardware, could be the drivers crashing, could be Windows switching GPUs for some reason, could be overheating and shutting down. Basically something around your GPU is causing it to reset or otherwise disappear from the system.

Well I get no other problems from any other more demanding games. If it were overheating it would shut down my entire computer. The drivers are up to date, but I may try to install an older version, seems to be one of my last options.

I find it way too much of a coincidence that this game and only this game started to crash after the last update.
it is a graphics issue as i some times got that crash report feature'in D3D11 and i mostly got it due too have'in other things running whilst try'in to load the game, but since update 6 i have had little to no issue game loading or game wise..

try this link see if it helps you... https://forums.unrealengine.com/t/unreal-engine-is-exiting-due-to-d3d-device-being-lost-again-and-again/138376

TY,, while the link mostly talks about laptop drivers it does mention doing a clean install which I have not tried of my GPU drivers. I will run a registry cleaner too after I uninstall.

Its something to go on and Im willing to try anything short of formatting my C drive right now. Ty again.

Ill post my results when I get around to it later tonight or tomorrow.
So got my game to stop crashing. Ill give a run down of what i did to maybe help anyone else having the problem. Not sure which one actually did the trick though.

1. Reverted my graphics driver back to the August release of last year. I had tried a clean install of the latest drivers and still crashed.

2. Dropped my shadow quality to medium and unchecked the other box for shadows (forget what its called). I found this gave a massive improvement to game performance. I am slowly turning all my other settings up to see how the game performs, but so far no crashes.

3. Turned off the experimental thing for conveyor belts in the video settings.

5. Removed Geforce experience altogether.

Like I said i am not sure which one might have been the difference maker but to anyone crashing please try these. It made a world of difference to me. Instead of crashing ever 5-10 mins I was able to play for like 4-5 hours smoothly. I will still mess with settings and see if there is one that is causing crashes and will post back if I find anything. I am just glad it is not an issue with my video card malfunctioning like some had suggested.
