Map marker menu not appearing.

After a discussion on how to remove map markers, someone showed me a screen shot of the map screen and a menu that appears allowing various options regarding the marker. That menu doe not appear on my game, so cannot remove any markers. I can hide them, but I will eventually run out as there is a limit to the number of markers one can place.
